Do you know of a way to fix the MyLeague potential rating issue in last gen? At the end of every season players potential rating goes down to whatever their overall is. Kills myleague 😢
I also feel 2k defense is too unrealistic no matter sliders in today's nba nobody plays defense and in 2k you got avg dude guarding superstars like they are scotty pippen on defense lol
@@samleibold28 lol yeah I agree with this. It's kinda like what we WISH more guys would be like in the NBA on defense...or like they have everybody at playoff-level intensity all the time. We need like a "defensive apathy level" slider!!!🤣🤣
My boy I've been using your sets ever since the first one you ever put out, much love and appreciation for making this f*ed up game playable once again. I've actually always been playing with shot timing but without the shot meter, so I usually bounce up all the shooting sliders by 4 to 5. Anyways, my question is: have you done any testing regarding the defensive settings like defending the pnr, off ball screens and off ball pressure etc.? Seems like teams I'm playing against get open shots or open rollers after screens all the time and I'm getting smoked off that. Also, what do you think about the help defense slider in the coaching sliders? Much ❤ from Germany!
Hey thank u!!! I'm actually not far removed from Germany myself!! My great grandma grew up just outside Berlin! Really great to hear from u all the way back in Germany!!❤❤ As far as the defensive settings, I absolutely test the crap outta those!! I hope u saw I actually just put out an updated help D video yesterday cuz the patch messed up that part of the programming. If u didn't catch it, u'll see it on my channel, it's the most recent upload. I really wanna do a video on all the coaching sliders cuz I feel like there's a lotta misconceptions about them. They really only apply if u leave the other stuff alone. It's kinda hard to explain and that's why I wanna do a vid about them. But the help D slider is a good example: the game only listens to that slider if u have all the defensive settings related to help D set to auto. As soon as we set the help rules/off ball pressure settings, the game will disregard our setting for the help D coaching slider and only listen to our defensive settings. So it's really only useful for those who don't wanna get fully into customizing their defense...like if ur doing a simcast/simcast live and u wanna let ur coach do his thing...but u just wanna give him some direction in his decision making, that's when that slider would apply. I really wanna do a vid to clear all this up cuz I do get a lotta questions about a lotta those sliders in that menu. It's just weird how 2K has it set up, and they really don't tell u what overrides what and stuff like that. I will absolutely do a video on the pick n roll defensive settings cuz that part of the game is pretty bad. Tryna defend pnr's and stop that little lob pass the cpu loves to do is tough. And then u add in the fact that the ur AI teammates don't know how to hedge...it's pretty rough. The absolute number 1 thing I try to do on important possessions is make sure I switch to control the hedge defender myself. I'll have more on it coming cuz it is a freaking can and a half of worms for sure!! I'm sorry I wrote u a novel!!!

I keep wondering every year at what point some game developers out there decide to just end this vicious cycle us Basketball-Sim-lovers have to go through every year with 2K and takes them on with their own game... I've actually been testing those recently!! I think they should vary based on the diff level. Not sure what set u normally play on...but an easy way to do it is to set the def assist at 15 for Beyond HOF and then add 5 for each level. So HOF would be 20, Superstar 25, etc. Then for the boxout assist, just subtract 5 from the setting u just used for the def assist👍
I have my defensive assist set to 5 I noticed any higher they tend to reach in foul and also to me it’s easier to react on defense when the slider is lower
It does make the game better. I appreciate you efforts my man. Definitely still a lot to be fixed that cannot be chnaged through sliders. Unfortunately i believe 2k has grown lazy and will never fix these small issues that add up to a much larger problem.
That I'm not totally sure about tbh. Normally, I like to make the sliders so that u get basically the same results with the meter or real player %....but that part of the game was so messed up this yr that it wasn't possible to do that. I would recommend giving the meter a try with a little practice cuz the sliders really do downplay the importance of the meter. If u really REALLY wanna do real player %, I still would rather use these sliders than the default for sure. The only thing u might experience is shooting being too easy. In that case, u'd just take the user's shot success sliders down by a couple notches. I'd love to hear how it goes if u do play with these sliders on real player %!!!

What are the specific sliders that deal with "variance" between bad-defenders, good-defenders, and elite-defenders?? What I have found in this game, players with 49-PerimeterDefense would play defense as if they had 99 Perimeter defense.... LOL
Bit late to the party but really appreciate you doing a last gen vid. The PC version is basically a scam in my opinion but your sliders/tips/insight make MyLeague a lot more fun and bearable. Thank you!
Man, you rock. I couldn't believe how bad "vanilla" 2k24 was on last gen (PS4). I've used your sliders before, and they rock. I really appreciate the work you put in. Your explanations as to why you choose what you choose are wonderful as well, because if I disagree a little, I can tweak them and know what to expect. I'm really interested in your contract sliders for the last gen, but I can't find a vid from you. I know you are prolific AF , and I'd understand if you just gave up, but is there one that describes the contract sliders for last gen 2k24? Because they're WAY different than next gen. If anyone can help, it would be most appreciated. I' sick of seeing 27 year old 77 overall in the freeagent list mid season.
The current generation (PS5/Series) fixes the myNBA glitch with assist distribution and regression rate... has this affected the simulation or regression results?
Yeah I saw they fixed it on new gen! That's great!! I updated the downloadable set on there now that we can finally have them set to where they should be at the same time. As far as different results, the system we were using to get around the glitch was to switch the setting back n forth. So use the right number for the assists during the season and the right number for the regression during the offseason. So the biggest difference is we don't have to go thru that hassle anymore. There's very very little difference with the actual results. The only thing is that a very small % of the player regression does occur over the course of the season, so now we actually get that extra little bit of regression that should have been taking place all along. It's really only like 5% tho, so we're talking very very tiny details. It's not enough to even consider using a different setting for the player regression to account for it👍

Question? I play MyLeague.. Other users run 5 out offense.. I want to know how can i keep my "C" on the block/near the paint AT ALL TIMES, no matter what offense the opponent calls? I want my Center to not guard his man while he is standing on the 3pt line.... Just stay around the paint AT ALL TIMES
Okay gotcha...if u go to the defensive settings and go to the off-ball pressure setting, then hit R1/L1 to cycle the opposing players. Whoever ur center is guarding, set just that player to "leave him" and he'll give a ton of space and hang around much closer to the paint. So it's just like a player-specific off ball pressure setting. U can put it on diff settings for diff players. The only thing I'd look out for with this setting is defensive 3 second violations. Sometimes they can lack awareness and get called for def 3 in the key. I'll kinda try to keep one eye on him and switch to him every now and then if I'm scared he's gonna go dumb and get a 3 seconds.
Yeah that's true. I wish I could get them on there. PC has gotten so screwed with 2K not making a next gen PC version, so I feel bad making it even more of an inconvenience for PC users!!

It's the same thing. There was too much confusion with the gens, so I just started calling PS4/Xbox One/PC last gen and PS5/Xbox Series X/S new gen to try to avoid any ambiguity.
@ThePopboy 2K just don't care for us I guess it's been like this since 2k20 even Fifa (EA FC now) has next gen on PC and so does Madden I dunno what keeps holding 2K back
