It’s sad how 2k went backwards, graphics are better with modern 2k, but game mechanics, and movement regressed. Back then there used to be halftime highlights, realism, presentatiin and excitement, now it’s just 10 robotic guys running around.
I'm a madden player, but watching this brought back so many memories when I actually played 2k. The crowd is lit the PA announcer is on point the commentary is on point and looking back 10yrs ago the graphics are pretty nice as well. We can only hope that the next Series X and PS5 brings this feeling back I'm also holding out hope in madden.
I gave up on madden after 17. Hopefully they actually do have improvements for next gen. As a basketball fan I play the games every year and I'm usually satisfied but I always go back to the old games and just feel a sense of happiness.
The Player REALISM & ATMOSPHERE is so immersive & engaging. Presentation & Commentating is so Vibrant. Sad 2k went away from this model.. New 2k’s are very animated.
I liked the presentation on it, I wasn't a fan of the gameplay too much, I think 2k8 and 2k10 were better, this and 2k12 might be tied for the ones i like the least
2k10 is the best one overall the dunks were crazy in 2k9 it's my second favorite i like 2k8 bcus lebron, carmelo, and Cp3 was with their original teams
If I had to rank them for myself personally it'd be: 2k10, 2k14, 2k11, 2k7, 2k13, 2k8, 2k6, 2k5, 2k3, 2k4, 2k2, 2k1, 2k12, 2k9, 2k. I don't even think any of them are bad games but I definitely played 10 and 7 the most and I've completed a full season on 14 on ps3, ps4 and 360.
LMFAO damn bruh u put 2k9 way off the radar lol ion think it was that bad lol if i had to rank em all mines would be 2k10 , 2k13, 2k11, 2k9 2k14, 2k8, 2k7 2k12, 2k5, 2k6, 2k3 2k4 2k2 2k1....and you right they aint bad but not all that great either...there still fun to play
I liked 2k9 when it first came out but I just felt it wasn't as good as 2k7 or 2k8. Plus the game had too many glitches where the CPU would get so many offensive rebounds or double dribble a bunch just to score on you on hall of fame. Same thing with 2k12, it was great game but the player speed was a joke, the CPU would hold the ball for like 23 seconds then shoot and make a buzzer beater like 80% of the time and the AI would shoot too many 3's, I played the Pacers one game and they shot 47 threes as a team making 29, even Roy Hibbert shot 3 attempts lol. Also those games didn't advance the series too much everything that was in 2k9 was in 2k8 and the same with 2k12 from 2k11. It wasn't like they had much competition because live 09 and nba 09 weren't exactly the games you'd pick over 2k9 unless you just really like super fast paced basketball.
they need to being back these intros at the beginning, that's bad ass. I think the 2k's today are too dame realisitic, need to add a little bit of video gamey like atmosphere
Yo these old ones require absolute skills! Glibert arenas and rashard lewis are glitches in the game... There are so many others i know about... Just from literally playin all night long and mastering this shit... 2k8 2k9 2k10... I figured in and out... After 2k11 it jus became child play... But i remember some wars with my friends!
I prefer 2k10 due to myplayer and the final form of the dunk contest. Both has issues but 2k10 felt more polished to me. Watch videos and make a decision on which looks more fun.
That was me on 2k8 doing that with Kobe against Boston triple teamed lol. The clutch rating actually mattered on old 2k's dudes would be like a 108 overall in the clutch.
Cause it was all about the actual gameplay and making the game as much fun for users as possible. Now it’s all about money and gameplay comes secondary, this usually happens when a company grows too popular and gets greedy. Just like Madden…
2k16 for me ironically 2k12 is my least favorite but it has one of my favorite modes in the legends showcase. I was just upset that with 12, they got rid of crew, dunk contest and 3 point contest, d league/summer league in myplayer, speed was broken, invented shot clock cheese, the AI would take a crazy amount of 3s but with the flaws it's still fun in moderation lol.
Derek Turner clearly that’s not how an NBA game looks in real life. Especially not during tipoff. American crowds during regular season just sit down and do nothing.
Ok point taken lol. So many people complain that the crowd being dead sort of is not realistic on these later 2k and live games but truthfully I've been to games and they do be pretty quiet with occasional chants.
The gameplay and player movement was better in NBA 2k9 then it is in 2k20. 2k20 is absolute garbage. I wish they would bring back the career mode where u can control all five players on the court and have complete control over your teams roster during the season and off-season. Playing games where the outcome of the game is already predetermined by the game is fuckin stupid.
The top two teams you played against online, Lakers are my team but I never used them online Kobe was cheap because online the difficulty was set to pro so he could shoot 3's like crazy plus drive and pull up and LeBron was just unstoppable once he got anywhere inside of that 3 point line, D Wade was close but not on the level of cheese they brought. Pretty much from 2k7 - 2k9 Kobe & LeBron were the go to guys in online play.
Dunk contest, the myplayer experience was slightly better to me, I prefer the dribbling system over the simplified one they used in 2k11. Other than that 2k11 is pretty much a definitive edition of 2k10 with a worse dunk contest, an easier dribble system, MJ and classic teams and the 2k scout dude not berating your performance. Overall 2k11 is the superior game but for some reason I had more fun on 2k10. It could be that the spin dunk and up and under layups on 2k11 were unstoppable.
