Not sure anyone at least the way nba is currently played will come close to top 5 in points. Load management players wont have enough games. And i wouldnt be surprised to see players not playing as many seasons in future just because they are making so much now.
@@valor144 Jordan is barely in 5th place because he gamba'd his career away...I doubt he would've passed Karl Malone. His style of sheer athletic scoring was unsustainable as he got older.
@@cavemantero I disagree here. Before MJ stopped for the first time he was averaging more than 30 ppg playing almost all games. Just these 2 years alone are almost 5000 points. added to his total thats 37000 points already. Now imagine he never stopped for the 2nd time either. I 'm not saying he would be the same player after 98 but he could easily get another 2-3k points in 3-4 years
it was custom for players, like Bird and Magic, Karl Malone, Ewing, Stockton, AC green, Jordan, to play 82 games or to attempt to be healthy for each game. Nowadays the stars are playing 55-75 games for whatever reason, and no it's no because the game is more phisical and causing more injuries
KD should do it. In 4 years he can easily do it. He has to play till 39 though. Westbrook and Harden probably can't. They have declined and need 7500 points.
En los próximos 7 partidos, a una media de 20 y pico, LeBron "JAMES", superará la barrera de los ¡40.000! en Temporada Regular. Actualmente, sé encuentra a tan sólo 132 para alcanzarla.
You muppets You have just had as lucky escape from done serious rant I just did on you but RU-vid has fucked up and now it’s missing mos it No. Do yourself the most important favour of your love side and join this cua n and go say l yeah I know I’m gonna go go go go go go go and get fucking cut and snicker about 40 fuck fuck fuck yeah
Don't forget 2 season out due to injury as-well, so 13 overall seasons, he also started at 21, imagine if he started at 19-20 and played 20 full seasons without injury. His numbers would be insane.
@@jasse85I mean if we go by this logic of being able to erase injuries and start guys in the NBA earlier then look at Wilt. Could've also started 3 years earlier between his time with Kansas and the Globetrotters and probably would've put up 30+ PPG which adds up to over 7K points. And then if he never got injured in '70 he'd have another season averaging at least 20 ppg which is another 1.5K points. The injury definitely took a toll on him too since medical tech, sports medicine/training/conditioning and rehab protocols were no where near as good so he probably could've actually played a extra season or two even at just 15 ppg that's another 2.5K. And if we really wanna go all in in this "what if" we can also say that Wilt didn't intentionally change his playstyle to focus less on scoring and more on a conducive winning team oriented style during his Philly/LA years then he'd still probably would've averaged 25-30 ppg over those last 7 years instead of 20 ppg which adds another 3-6K points. So that would put his somewhere in the ball park of 45K points.
Yeah, Jordan retired twice and played in a much lower scoring era compared to today's game. Before his knee injury, Jordan was putting up the same numbers at 39 as Lebron is today (PPG), yet a much lower scoring season than today. That's why Lebron fanboys will only compare players to Lebron in their 21st season and not at "age 39".
@@Paulafan5Not going to get into this who's better all time but most of your arguments here are just false. Before his knee injury at 38, Jordan was averaging 25-6-5 on -3% rTS and at 39 he averaged 20-6-4 on -2% rTS. LeBron at 38 averaged 29-8-7 on +1% rTS with a foot injury throughout the year that needed surgery and at 39 is averaging 26-7-8 on +5% rTS. So pretty significant difference when you take into relative efficiency, the fact his stats overall are better, and that the Lakers are an actual playoff team that just made the WCF whereas the Wizards were dookie with and without Jordan putting up mostly empty numbers. Also I think people forget Bron came into the league during the slowest pace, lowest scoring era, defensive oriented era in bastkeball in the early to mid 00s and because of this the league average in PPG from 2004-2024 is about 103.3 compared to during Jordan's career 1984-1999, 2001-2003 at 103.5.
This list ended in 2004 when the defense was outlawed. Any record after is a different game. If you give % of 3 points that are not attributed to Kareem and Wilt and Moses then what? This really doesn't work. There are multiple eras of basketball with rules so different they are uncomparable as games.
@@Nyfancam01 Out of 32 current and future HOF forwards, Malone is tied for 8th place all-time in avg. points generated (scoring + assists) per 36 minutes played. He's also tied for 8th all-time in avg. rebounds per 36/min played. Not trash at all.
I love when Jordan worshippers give their daddy extra credit for quitting the sport multiple times. Also he came back in ‘95, got MVP votes, and lost in the 2nd rnd. So no, he didn’t quit for 2 years.
