Sure Wilt would dominate on 1v1 but Bill's Boston would beat the hell out of any team Wilt played. Bigger than life personalities tho, love'm both!

Now with Internet and RU-vid it's easy to write the truth story for all the players..and J.West until Jordan start to play was the Best Player...when you see him to play in 60s you don't believe that he has the same harmony with today's shooter..and Bob Cousy was magic Johnson before magic..and he played in 50s more not 60s

I respect Bill Russell probably more than any player that has ever played basketball. But I get tired of hearing people talk about someone as the greatest based on their championships. If that's the case then Sam Jones and John Havlicek also need to be in the conversation as the top 10 players of all time. And you notice they said Jordan has the next most with six oh, but it's actually Sam Jones with 10 Havlicek had about eight and some other players probably were up around that 6/8 Mark as well. With that said if I'm starting a squad from the 1960s it's a no-brainer that Wilt Chamberlain is going to be on my team.

Great point and by that standard you can also put Robert Horry in the top ten

J. Clint Lewey Russell's teammates from 1957 to 1969 were selected to twenty-six All-Star games, while Wilt's teammates from 1960 to 1973 were selected to twenty-four while being on the same team as Wilt.Let's never mention the supporting-cast card again with Russell and Chamberlain. Thank you.

You know, I don't know. I think that it was really depend on how many points you're going to. the more points the more likely Prime Bill would beat Prime Wilt. Because Wilt is one of the most athletic players to ever play but could be worn down not only physically but mentally having to repeatedly go up against Bill's defense, lurking and waiting for any small slip up to immediately take advantage of. and as for Bill scoring, I agree he isnt as good, but he could probably have worn down Wilt using his offense only, taking advantage of the fact Wilt would purposefully go for flash blocks that would rocket the ball into the crowd, using more energy than needed.
@johndavisson344
@johndavisson344 3 года назад
@@goXplay Wilt averaged more than 45 minutes per game for his career and over 48 minutes one season. Wilt's all time record 55 rebound game was against Bill Russell! He wasn't going to wear down physically and mentally.

People say Michael jordan is too dominant of a player to be left off the list then eilt shouldn't be either...the two times wilt actually had a quality coach, he won championships. Alex hannum was the only coach to beat the celtics in their title run & wilt had had him so imagine if wilt had him like russell had Auerbach. Dont disrespect Wilt..the list is top 5 players not top teammates
@namandhasmana
@namandhasmana 3 года назад
Wilt was basically alone against that super Boston team..Russel said it himself, Wilt is the best but didnt have that good if team..Russel said he the best player of all time...I saw it, that man dominated Bill during playoffs(bill was defensive player and still wilt had better defensive stats) ..point is people in this video think more rings = better..if that's the case, Phil Jackson is the GOAT🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@giorgospetropoulos2390
@giorgospetropoulos2390 3 года назад
S.Jones 9 champ J.Havlicek 8champ they don't take the respect they deserve from untold media..and Jerry West was the best player in 60s when the post season start..if you watch NBA finals Celtics-Lakers with so many superstars he was in different level from all...and the reason he don't take the 11rings was Baylor..he didn't help him in the end of the games..Jerry West is the second best player ever..

Bill Russell was better than Chamberlain..he can easley score the same points with Wilt..but the system of Celtics was like spurs they play together..and was the reason why they won so many titles..because no defense can stop in post season 5good players..but you can stop easley a offense with a big guy who can't shoot outside..and the correct stats for every player are in the post season..
@mikegillins4992
@mikegillins4992 3 года назад
Russell didn't have the same offensive skill set as Chamberlain no way...Russell would not of been able to put up those type of dominant scoring performances night in night out or season in season out and Russell scored alot of his points on put backs and fast break he didn't have the best low post game thou it decent...Chamberlain however could play Russell type of game rebounding and defense cause he prove that in 72 when lakers won championship and set all kinds of records!!!

Bill was 6 foot 9:he woulda played pf now
@goXplay
@goXplay 3 года назад
actually he wasn't 6'9". Look up pictures of him standing next to 6'11" Tim Duncan, and factor in that as you age you become shorter and Bill was probably closer to 7'0" easily in todays game if he had the same nutritional science todays high school, college, and professional levels. Also his main focus was to stop big men, which were the main point of the offense was. Although I would be tempted to throw him at PF so he could defend the perimeter (check the stats he actually defended guards close to the same level of efficiency as big men during his time) I think Bill would be best used as a center in the modern game in order to shut down not only centers but anyone trying to finish. at Center he could swap onto the driving finisher and most likely even intercept or block a pass if that finisher tried to swap to lobbing to the now undefended center.
