You literally had control over each shot and dribble move without long, slow, and stiff animations. Live 03, 04, 05, 6 and 7 were great basketball games I wish they returned back to!

Not really, they were just more popular at the time but 2K still put out better games especially 2K5

NBA Courtside 2002, 2k2, 2k3, live 03, 04, 05 & 06 are the only great basketball games for me that I still play on the Nintendo Wii console / Gamecube compatible - you just can't beat & can't go wrong with the classics!!! Along with the original Microsoft Xbox system, Sony ps2 with Shootout 2003 then 04, Inside drive 2003, 04 & for the N64, NBA Showtime: NBA ON NBC.

I got a ps2 and just ordered nba live 2004 and also have san andreas, working on here comes the pain next then maybe nba live 2003

Still may favorite game stylistically. Contact and control of movement never got better. Offensive styles did though

game play was terrible in this game,clunky as hell defenders picking you up 30 feet away from the hoop..you run into a defender and you got knocked back to the 3 point line...in hindsight this game play was pretty damn bad...
