@dreamcage1801 Any updates with the NBA TV deal? I heard April 22 is when NBC bids after the 45 day window negotiations for ABC and TNT bids. I havent heard much news on it.
Helluva series Need intense rivalries like this again with the level of animosity P.S.: NBA will likely be returning to NBC next year with a new media rights deal.
@@dreamcage1801The game wont be like 90s but I expect modern-day NBA intros and everything else. Storylines and even better presentation. I wonder if they will still use Jim Fagan's voice for NBA on NBC versus menu intros. It would be nice.
Nba on nbc from the 90s was fire cause when u heard it u knew it was playoff time. Nbc in the 80s and 90s had the NBA and nfl TV contracts and some of best shows on there network too but after 98 they lost the nfl tv contract back to cbs and eventually would lose the nba tv contract too in the 2000s and that's when nbc started to become 2nd or 3rd best TV network.
This series was entertaining. Portland wailed on Utah in the 1st two games. The Jazz took the fight to the Blazers in Games 3 and 4. This game here was epic. Game 6 was a fight to the finish. Long live the 90's NBA
Some players were just able to have the numbers of other more known players with much more storied careers. Nick Van Exel when he was with the Lakers used to give Gary Payton problems.
Overall players today are definitely more athletic. Clyde was a top 10 player in the game, nobody is saying he wasn't good. But nowadays the 8th best player on the team is athletic. Steve Kerr said he wouldn't be able to play in today's NBA.
While MJ vs Clyde made for a good Finals matchup, I wonder how a younger Malone and Stockton would've done against the Bulls had they reached the 1992 Finals.
@chrisuncleahmad If I remember correctly, that triple overtime game is the one where MJ gets called for a foul at the end, completely loses his cool, and then gets ejected, either for his 6th foul or his 2nd technical. I remember him talking about it on one of the specials where he says he went to the back and was irate, smashing the blackboard, cursing, etc. He said that's the 1st time he just lost it like that in a game.
91 was the real question; Malone maintained that if the Jazz hadn’t done overseas to Japan for preseason games, followed immediately by a long road trip to start the season, all of which disrupted their rhythm, that they would have won the title that year
I think that’s a great question. I think the 97’ and 98’ Jazz teams were better than this 92’ team. Unfortunately, I think those 97’ and 98’ Bulls teams were better than that 92’ Bulls team. If I had to guess I’d say Bulls in 6.
This Portland team was so deep. They had 8 - 9 solid players around Drexler. It's just another example of how great Michael Jordan was to beat this team in the NBA Finals.
They win one of these with a better coach. Adelman was like the Marty Schottenheimer of the NBA, got several teams close to the top but never took down the title.
Correct. Like when Phil Jackson had Jordan hit 5 3 pointers. Adeleman could have had Drexler or Porter do that. But didn't. If you asked Jordan, he'd say it was his coach and teammates as much as him.
@@redhorse6652jordan hit 6 -3s in the first half and dropped 35 in the first half of game 1.. game was over at halftime 😂 exactly Rick was a great coach
Jerome Kersey was an absolute beast on both ends of the court. R.I.P. And I am guessing Mark Eaton could no longer jump at this point in his career? Because I am watching Duckworth score over him again and again.
And also outplayed by the Spurs in 93, despite having the best roster (on paper) in the early 1990's... One could ask, which year Clyde is reffering to???
Portland was favorite to win it all in 91 and choked the 90s had a bunch of underachieving teams Suns Jazz Portland Seattle Knicks my Pacers all underachieving overrated teams my Pacers being the best of them
That Old school floor in Portland was a Gym not an arena or stadium. It’s was so small. Held like only 8,000 fans. Great Home Court advantage for the Blazers.
Yes hopefully ill be able to post some. There's two here (if you have not seen already): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-neb0-cjPoS8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TL_wjPFdGZk.html
Looking Back: I wish Utah won this series because they would have been better competition for the Bulls with this team, just the match-ups; this Portland team was a joke and didn't and/or couldn't perform when it mattered most, Utah just lost but they competed, the Blazers just choked.
Honestly top to bottom I believe Portland was the better, I don’t think Utah’s reserves were good enough to play at that level yet. In terms of Portland, yes they had been known for self destruction, however, usually that would take place vs teams with as much or more experience than them, ex: Detroit, LA, Boston (92 regular season).
