@alectapia1518 Bro I was so happy , I couldn't even sleep the night before cause I knew my Mom got NBA Live 96 for me lol Then to have NBA Christmas games on for later was just magic!! thooooose were the daaaaaaaays 🥲
Falling in love with Penny and Orlando Magic in 1995. I lived in Hong Kong and NBA LIVE 96 was my 1st ever basketball pc game! Just couldnt stop playing. And Shaq with the Magic hone jersey s cover was so dope🎉 Those were the good old days.❤
This was the signal by the NBA that they wanted Shaq to be one of the faces of the NBA which was evident as they let Shaq offensive foul, defensive foul, etc.
You can debate Shaq should've fouled out in three of the four games in the 1995 finals vs Hakeem. The refs kept bailing shaq out. Yes this includes game one so Shaq shouldn't have been playing in the fourth quarter and overtime. That series should've ended sooner than it did. Considering they got swept. Yet they rather blame Nick Anderson and ruin his career. Even Shaq will blame Nick Anderson at times.
@@JamesHardenoverKobe Speaking the truth. I thought about grabbing that series and showing how Shaq would travel, and both offensive and defensive foul. It was bad enough they got swept, but just imagine if the refs called that Finals the way they should’ve. Also same thing goes in the 1994 NBA Finals. NBA couldn’t afford to let the Rockets get their calls (e.g. Mason fouling Hakeem while he was getting position) or that series would’ve been done in six or less.
@@JamesHardenoverKobe Yeah David Robinson use to get all the calls and Hakeem none! I recall Hakeem saying he told the ref something like “[Allah would not like that call] or something like that and got a technical foul.
Magic avenged their humbling 1995 Finals sweep against the Rockets, unfortunately the Bulls would avenge their 1995 2nd round knockout against Orlando later that season.
How did they avenge it? I don’t remember the Magic going to the Finals and Winning a Championship agains them… I do remember the Rockets going back 2 back tho! 🚀🏆🏆
Second the motion, haha. If it ain't broken, why fix it? The previous unis already have "championship charm", let alone back-to-back Titles. No worries, we're not alone. Even Mario Elie expressed disdain, for they look like the Harlem Globetrotters.
I don’t think anybody in the history of NBA has committed more (none called) offensive fouls, than Shaq attaq! Gotta love seeing him sweating buckets every game, like he’s in a sauna… 😂 Hakeem looked sick of the whole game by the 3rd quarter. He gave the refs that “I’m tired of this 💩” look! Shaq was so big he couldn’t even control his body from bumping and hitting ppl, he has players flying around like bowling pins.
@@PIP...33 as Horry used to say Duncan won more rings in superteam, but I played with both and Hakeem is '' 20x better than Duncan '' !! Same with MJ , he is just wagon in superteam where Pippen does all work and Rodman saved him after MJ lost 1995
Today's nba is so boring since the introduction of zone defense and area offense and defense . They just run up and down the court . I love this old school from the 1990s and earlier NBA. You got more players fighting for rebounds, hustling up and down the court , diving for loose balls , more physical and a lot more contortions of player's bodies, etc. For me the most hustling player was Allen Iverson . He was small but very quick , tore rebounds away from taller guys, dive for loose balls, great defensively & offensively and gave you 100% whenever he was playing . He really sacrificed his his small body and still played . There were times he was so bandaged up he looked like he was wounded in a battle in a war. In this 21st century the only NBA championship ( or any 21st century NBA game for that matter) series where a team really hustled and played great defense was The Toronto Raptors beating The Golden State Warriors 4 games to 2 to win the 2019 NBA championship .
Rockets won the championship in 1994 and 1995, between the Bulls 1991, 1992, 1993 and then 1996, 1997 and 1998. When Jordan tried and failed at baseball.
@@MDBBall put old playoffs Bird sweeping Jordan I wanna see selfish brick machine who pile up pts so shallow ppl cant blame him, vs best GOAT team payer Larry Legend who makes everyone around him better and every team mate to this day loves him unlike Jordan who will never be great and all mates loves Pippen . MJ must pay Oakley to have 1 ''friend'' in life.
@@perditadurango9699 LOL HE ALSO PAY AHMAD RASHAD AND OTHER VOTERS SO HE COULD HAVE ALL NBA DEFENSIVE AND FIRST TEAMS. AFTER JEFF VAN GUNDY XPOSED HOW OAKLEY RIGGED PLAYOFFS CAUSE HE TAKING MONEY FROM HIS FRIEND JORDAN, DAVID STERN FINNED HIM 150K. ANOTHER EVIDENCE JORDAN WILL NEVER BE GREAT PLAYER
The Rockets would actually be a difficult matchup considering they didn't use the traditional PG playmaking system the other teams used, their system consisted of team ball. Also Horry was a more athletic version of Kukoc and a more consistent postseason performer.
Injury bug is catching up on him, or even the team for that matter. Teams playing until June can take its toll. For their case, in a 24-month span. In 1994, the Rockets played until late June with two Game 7s. In 1995, 1st and 2nd rounds went the distance. Despite Hakeem's dominance, the Spurs gave a serious resistance.
46% isn't necessarily bad, that's decent. Shaq obviously shot better but that's because all of his attempts were in the paint outside shots and fadeaway jumpers are lower % makes.
Peak 2000 Shaq > any Hakeem you got. Orlando Magic Shaq was young and immature good regular season player but didn’t have the experience needed to dominate in playoffs.
The leading scorer of the 95 postseason had a 33 ppg average, guess who? Before the Rockets beat the Magic they had already knocked out the Spurs who had the league MVP at the same position. He also was on the 1st team and defensive 1st team Shaq arguably wasn't even the best C the Rockets went up against that year. It's ridiculous how the Rockets had probably the most difficult postseason championship run of all time yet all people wanna talk about is the usual lame copout excuse for why Shaq lost to them. He wasn't too young to get to the finals in the first place though, right? It takes a collective team effort to win Shaq and Penny both put up big numbers and it didn't matter with the Rockets outshooting the Magic overall. The same thing the following year the Bulls let Shaq and Penny score their points deciding the shut down everyone else on the Magic instead.
If you mean stronger and just bulldoze ie offensively foul just about every play then yeah greater but olajuwon had way more skills his footwork at the time no one could duplicate shaq couldnt shoot past 8 feet hence the free throws
@@briandenapoli3250 I don’t care about all that foul crap means nothing! Shaq was fouled almost every time he touched the ball and they’d swallow the whistles so it goes both ways. quit crying. If you don’t like physicality go watch tennis.
@@briandenapoli3250 LeBron, Giannis and Zion just a few of the players who play bully ball. Giannis just runs into defenders full speed who cares. Get stronger or go watch bowling
If they had not sent Cassell, Horry, Smith, and Bryant for Chuck, they should have fought in the final of 1998 against MJ. They might have shipped Rodman in 1995 for PF. In that case, the starting squad would be C- Hakeem/Willis PF- Rodman/Bryant SF- Horry/Ellie SG- Drexler/E. Johnson PG- Smith/Cassell
You mean 97? As far as the PF situation I felt they could've just picked up Kevin Willis in free agency without giving up anyone after the 96 season. The main problem they had with the Sonics was having Chucky Brown out of position at PF matched up with the Sonics forwards who all played in the low post Willis would've filled that gap easily.
Rodman was not going to play for anyone not coached by Phil and be productive. Chuck played very good for the Rockets. Stockton hit that buzzer beater that kept them out the finals.
nope, Barkley ruined Tomjanovich playbooks and system. Hakeem just pick up ages from years that he carried team alone something Jordan never did cause he retired like coward to avoid competition whenever he didnt had superteam or others stars got help like Admiral 1997/98 first time in Duncan.
Barkley wasn;t on the Rockets in 1995-96. The plays they used for him when they traded for him in 1996-97 where exacty the same the used for Hakeem.Jordan left because of the competition? What competition? He destroyed all the competition. The 1994 Bulls would be his best team. Pippen and Grant were at their prime and so was BJ armostrong. They traded for Longley and singed Kerr and the best european player in Toni Kukoc. In 1998 Jerry Reinsdorf dismantled the team bcause he was cheap and the chance of competing for another championship didn;t mean much to him. Had Jordan not retired he would have won easily 8-9 rings and Hakeem would have won shit. Anyway the Rockets were too damn lucky especially in the series against the Suns both seasons, and against the Knicks of course. Got it illiterate imbecile dumbass clown?@@perditadurango9699
