I love how it is so unique and is its own thing, yet you can still find bits and traces of "Roundball Rock" from the NBA on NBC days. I could literally listen to this all day and never get tired of it. Absolute masterclass theme.

Or the Washington Wizards and Mystics who used this theme on NBC Sports Washington which Ted Leonsis, Monumental Sports and Entertainment group bought in full last year and they just rebranded to Monumental Sports Network today.

Sadly Fox Sports uses the 1990's NBA on NBC Theme. The best thing NBC Sports and Peacock can do in 2024 is use NBA on NBC Local Edition theme for Olympic Basketball.

It is strange hearing John Tesh's "Roundball Rock" on FOX Sports college basketball coverage. As for this theme, it's beautiful. Vibes of NBA on NBC but in a more stylish, modern package.

Wish that was the case but then again this is a different era. This edition of NBA on NBC Sports Regional is fitting for the era the Warriors going to the playoffs. the 1990's edition is more fitting for Chicago Bulls when Michael Jordan was there.

Miss hearing it on Wizards and Mystics games on NBC Sports Washington, now that they've rebranded it as Monumental Sports Network. The new theme they use sounds like the ESPN SEC Network theme.

Ted Leonsis's Monumental Sports and Entertainment Group owns all of NBC Sports Washington now and will rebrand it once NBC Sports commitment ends in a year or so from now.

@@blaineshores4184I hope so. I mean, look at ESPN/ABC, they updated the old NHL theme when they took over the rights from NBC. However, Fox sadly has the rights. I bet NBC will use the RSN theme if they get the national NBA rights since it has tinges of John Tesh's theme song.

John Tesh would need to get paid by Comcast a big sum for them to use it on their regional sports networks (RSNs). I don't think they were ever going to put that kind of money in.
