It's the best intro TNT has ever had for NBA games, in my opinion. The theme music and the video go together, though. Shouldn't use one without the other. And you wouldn't want to use this intro with today's players, either. The NBA was a much different league back then with quite a few characters.
It’s amazing how nostalgic a simple television broadcast can be. It’s so surreal. I can remember my eyes being glued to the tv back then, whenever Michael Jordan and the Bulls were playing. Clips like this also spark up memories of friends and family who are no longer with us. Thank God for memories.
@@PredatorKingdom I agree. Looking at old nfl and nba highlights in the early 90s it had an 80s flavor to it. Heck even mid 90s still had some 80s flavor to it
@@BeholdtheTruthBrandon This is so true guys the early 90s and some of the mid 90s still had 80s influence. It's the same with the 80s like up until 1984 or 1985 there was a heavy 70s influence in everything. The same can be said for the early 70s with 60s influence and 2000s had 90s influence. The true character of a decade really doesn't take full shape until the mid part of the decade. I'd say in the 90s things really changed between 1994 and 1996. Things in the early 90s through about 94 or 95 felt like the 80s still to me. Once we got into the late 90s things felt more 90s around that time and things was really feeling 90s in the early 2000s through 2005.

I can only recall one other occasion in which a similar statement was made, by Rhonda Rousey: "If you’re actually 30 years old, that’s 30, not 30s. Once you add the one, that’s 30s, plural." According to you, the 1990's didn't start until 1992 or 1993. And according to Rousey, you aren't in your 30's until you turn 31 or 32. Bizarre school of thought from both of you.
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. 1991-92 was NOT a good year for me, but 1993-2002 was mostly good. 1993-94 was among the BEST times for me, and 1996 was special, too. Still, as bad as 1991-92 was (my first year in college, away at USC, unhappy and homesick), at least my DAD was back home, alive and healthy. I was only 19 in 1992, so I had hopes of life getting better. I have long thought that I'd live to be 48, and pass away in 2021. My Dad unexpectedly passed away in 2003, and life hasn't been happy for me since. I have long been planning for my 2021 funeral, which I want to be MUSIC based. Kid songs, Japanese kid songs, Christmas music, music from the 80s, VG music, sports themes, TV commercial songs, military marches. THIS NBA on TNT is one of the many songs that I want, played at my online virtual funeral. This, along with NBA on CBS (up to 1990) and even the NBA on NBC from 1991-2000 or so, are songs that I want played on my video tribute. If I'm indeed in the final months of my life, memories like these, are those that I will cherish, during these final months of my life.
I like the first three-peat Bulls more than the repeat three-peat. Mainly cause they had to get through the New York Knicks and that team was built from the ground up.
