Miller steals it in the final seconds. This made headlines all week that year and would become one of NBA's legendary moments for years to come, forever remembered. Reggie always found ways to stick it to the Knicks, but this part here really bumps it up and watching him scream "Yea, fuck all of you," to the Garden crowd cemented him as the Knicks nemesis.

Well, we knew we had to get a three. We were down by six, and we got a quick three on that. We knew they had no timeouts, and we needed to pressure the ball. We overplayed Anthony, Mason choked and threw it to me, and I hit a three. We almost lost this game when Sam made that foul, but John Starks choked. We came up big.
@mosesruperto7128
@mosesruperto7128 3 года назад
Ewing should have banked it. Better yet, Starks should have made at least one free throw. Actually, Mason should not have tried to pass the ball to a teammate who was on the floor. Only the Knicks bro. I swear.

This was the first of three seasons the NBA used a shortened three-point arc. You can see the faded sketch of the current (and former) arc behind the one used for this game.
@redpillfreedom6692

It's because rule changes are made very late in the off-season. Teams didn't have time to design new courts before the season, which forced them to hastily scrub out the original line. Only Chicago and Cleveland were able to make the transition seamlessly since they had new arenas and new courts to go along with them. Whoever built those courts held back from painting their three-point line until the rule change was announced.

Greatest ever comeback with the time left in NBA history; it was great the points he scored and how he did it; but more importantly he did in Madison Square Garden in front of Spike Lee; who Reggie called at the end of the game quote and quote "" LOL HIS BITCH"; BUT DEFINITELY ONE OF REGGIE MILLER LITARELY GREATEST GENUINE DRAFT MOMENTS; IT WAS MILLER TIME INDEED.

IDK guys, what do u think? I thought after the rebound off the 2nd FT, Ewing should have reset and gave the ball to one of the guards maybe?
@billny33
@billny33 4 года назад
Nah, it's a tie game, Ewing has a point blank look on a putback. He is their guy. He has to come after the rebound with that killer instinct like I'm going to get it and score it and give us the lead back. Just didn't work out that way. Ewing was not going to defer a chance to take the big shot unless he was double teamed and saw somebody open. For better or (sadly all too often) for worse.

Go over Reggies career Mj obviously above him Perhaps if pacers bulls with Jordan happened as much as Knicks pacers Reggie coulda got right up on his heels rather than a step or two lower. I'll put reg on kobes level Reg type cast as the king of the 3 He had game all around He wasn't shit in any skill His weakest is his D Which is underrated And you can make the argument based only on post season The things he did man Most just don't know Top 50 ez Maaaybe top 25 If I had time I'd put it all together

Ewing came through lots of times in the playoffs to win crucial games, yet without getting to win a championship, it's easy to recall the games he lost for a Knick Choke.

Series wouldn't have gone to 7 without his game winner in game 5. Knicks had no "supporting cast" so it all fell on Ewing's shoulders for better or worse, against teams that usually had a second star or a better star or both. That they were even competing against better teams with better rosters actually says a lot about Ewing and the team's toughness, even with their mental breakdowns at inopportune times.

Miller clearly pushed off when he stole the ball. I don't think the Knicks choked. In any game situation when you're down 6, if you hit a 3, and push off (and the refs don't call it) then you have a chance to tie it.
@jbizz80
@jbizz80 7 лет назад
Miller had hands on Anthony, but Anthony clearly tripped on his own. Mason missed key free throws and made a terrible inbounds pass. Starks missed two free throws and they only needed one to win. Ewing missed a five-footer in the lane. Sorry, but they choked.

Anthony was already falling when Miller touched him. Good no-call. And WTF? Mason was blind and threw it right to Miller. Choke. Starks misses two FTs. Choke. Ewing shoots too quickly, missing a gimme shot. Choke. Mason fouls Miller with the game tied. CHOKE. Anthony trips again, no chance to tie. Choke. This is the mother of all chokejobs.

The Knicks didn’t choke ? What do ya call Starks bricking 2 FTs , then inexplicably fouling Miller after the Starks’s misses , then Greg Anthony trips over his own feet , & finally Ewing bricks a bunny @ the buzzer ... all that After allowing Miller the only guy on the Pacers who could shoot / the only guy ya need to D up , to get a great 👀 at a 3 , after Miller hits the 1st 3 the Knicks panic on the inbound pass / throw the ball right to Reggie & allow him to run behind the 3PT line & drill another wide open 3 !!! All of this in under 9 seconds !!! Biggest choke job I’ve ever seen !!
