Basketball, you must touch the ball a couple hundred times a game. Plenty of opportunities to do something stupid. Baseball, yeah, a pitcher and catcher have that but it's more controlled. 1st base might touch the ball 30-40 times (with pickoffs). So less chance of doing something stupid.
