Career wise I have a lot of respect for this man. I’m 30 and like the type of music more that Kendrick makes but viewing rap as a profession I can’t help but respect YB so much more because of his work ethic. Seems like every single day or two he releases a song. Kendrick shows up to work every 4 years. It’s impressive that YB seems to just work work work and constantly release music.
I will say though that is because Kendrick spends all that time trying to put something with an unmatched level of complexity. I listen to NBA way more tho.

I think he’s spending time with his wife and making a family, living life and experiencing things for about 3 of those years then spends a year creating the album off of those life experiences and then does the touring, late night shows, live performances, etc. YB reminds me more of Tupac. It’s almost like he knows he’s going to die or go to the penitentiary so he tries to create as much music as possible while he can. I’ve heard the people who were around Pac at death row say in interviews he would make a whole album in like a week. Maybe they can do that cause they both spent time in jail. I imagine they write a lot while in there. Wtf ells you gunna do as an artist. Workout and write in your cell 🤷🏻♂️.
