Calling all bird lovers, bird watchers, bird experts, and bird newbies! Advancing science and conservation has been made more accessible to everyday community members over the past few years thanks to technological advances that have made data collection as easy as downloading an app onto your phone. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) has been leading the charge for the past three years in collecting data on bird species all over the state with the help of community partners and individuals, but with much ground still left to cover, they need YOU! Interested in becoming part of this giant community science opportunity but don’t know where to start?
NCWRC’s own Science Support Coordinator, Scott Anderson, will be presenting on the ongoing work to complete North Carolina’s Bird Atlas and how you can be involved. A special focus will be on how NCWF’s Community Wildlife Chapters can partner with WRC to adopt and complete priority blocks.
