Wishing Kelsey a speedy recovery. It’s really sad that the injury is costing her the ability to run her last Senior NCAA cross-country race with her teammates. But hope the team pulls an upset still.

It will be a very long shot to win the team title without Kelsey I will be fine with that if Tuohy wins

It's fun to watch Perry King's Starshine Reflections channel where he documents Tuohy's rise through the NY State cross scene, beginning when she was in about 7th grade. Kelsey, from Saratoga Springs, beat her pretty consistently until KT was in ninth grade, I think, when she started beating Kelsey. KC was Katelyn's main rival until she graduated in the spring of '19. Another rival was Suffern's Mary Hennelly, who finished 204/169 for Georgetown. Brooke Rauber appears in about 2018. She was the big star at Tully HS in the Syracuse area. Brooke replaced Katelyn as NY State's top cross runner when KT graduated.

@@Philobiblion So many great runners from NY state. And of course Joannie Benoit, from NC State, won the Olympic Marathon. Maybe Katelyn will win an Olympic event someday. With Parker Valby and Allie Ostrander nipping at her heels, it's going to be a challenge. I pray Katelyn gets at least one gold medal.

well let's hope Kelsey get's better soon, sad she got injured. This leaves a very difficult position to the other girls for the podium. From favourites at the start of the preseason to underdogs for a podium.

I thought the same thing. What's up with this question?
@Philobiblion
@Philobiblion 6 месяцев назад
My understanding is that KT was three things at once, Because of covid I believe most athletes in the classes or '23' and '24 picked up a half or full year of eligibility. That's what Kelsey is running as a 5th year. So eligibility-wise, KT is usually listed as a sophomore. She is an academic señor, and would normally graduate in May '24. But she has been on an accelerated academic schedule, and completed the credits to graduate the day before yesterday, December 16. The historic collegiate Era of Tuohy is OVER. I am seeing quite a bit of Touhy Withdrawal Syndrome already breaking out. However, maybe she'll be back with her teammate friends Elly Henes (Adidas) and Hannah Steelman (On) for Millrose and Dr. Sander at the Armory.
@bluenetmarketing
@bluenetmarketing 6 месяцев назад
@@Philobiblion I also have Abby Steiner withdrawal syndrome. 2024 will be the most interesting in women's running since Joannie Benoit. Benoit was/is an inspiration to my running. Now it's Tuohy, Ostrander, Steiner.

How many times does she feel the need to tell us "it's not surgical". Does anyone suspect it was? If a rumor surfaced that some surgical disaster caused the injury, the Message Board would have been on fire. Nobody thinks surgery was the cause. Yes, "it's not sugical." We believe you.
@carlcarl8827
@carlcarl8827 7 месяцев назад
she means that it doesn't need surgery, not that it was caused by surgery.
@brianway4240
@brianway4240 7 месяцев назад
@@carlcarl8827 I agree she doesn't say it was caused by surgery. As far as I could tell, she says it wasn't. I find this plausible: I suspect nobody thought it was. But you may be right that she meant 'doesn't require surgery'. That could be it. At any rate, she said 'surgical' several times between the indoor press conference and Gault's interview out in the field
@Philobiblion
@Philobiblion 6 месяцев назад
@@brianway4240 Like myself, I think you may have a tendency to over-think or over-analyze. During this interview the Boss Lady was living with a lot of pressure and trying to hold her steely-eyed pack of girl-woman murderers together. She did. THEY DID IT! No one but they know exactly what Kelsey said or did to provide a wise word of inspiration, but I am quite sure that every one of that team will remember whatever the Mama Wolf Kelsey said for the rest of their lives. Go Wolfpack!.
