Playing in Blacksburg, Va., it was a battle between two of the best teams in the nation, the #13 Hokies defeated the #3 Wolfpack at the buzzer, 63-62. After NC State took an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter, Virginia Tech went on a 12-0 run to take the lead with 1:28 left in the game. Soniya Rivers' reverse layup gave the Wolfpack a 1-point lead with 1.7 seconds left, but that was enough time for Virginia Tech to inbounds to Elizabeth Kitley for the game-winner. Kitley finished the game with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Georgia Amoore scored 18 of her 21 points in the second half. For NC State, Madison Hayes scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
