28-7 fight on ✌️🏈✌️ I was there @ the game UCLA thinking they were going to win Plz hahahaha UCLA clown JV football team haven't been to the Rose bowl since 99 & haven't won a Rose bowl since 86 sad hahahaha 🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
Now that I look back. As an Oklahoma State fan, The Trojans would have beat Florida in the national title. Probably blown them out of the stadium. I've never seen that much talent on a team.
Pete Carroll would have dominated if the playoff was around 10 years earlier. Nobody was consistently winning their conference like USC. The road games on a short week at Oregon State killed his chances at playing for National championships a couple of times.
This game marked a restoration of a huge tradition. When both teams shared the Coliseum, they both wore their colored jerseys when facing each other. After the Bruins moved into the Rose Bowl, the NCAA started requiring one team to wear white jerseys in every game. Because of the return to this tradition, USC was penalized a timeout, and UCLA took one immediately after to even the score. The NCAA changed the rule for 2009. Now, the NFL should take a page from this rivalry and permit the Rams and Chargers, who returned to LA in 2016 and 2017, respectively, to wear their colored jerseys when facing each other. In return, UCLA and USC should move their annual football rivalry game to the stadium that the Rams and Chargers currently share, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, which opened in 2020 and thus is not only a significantly more modern venue than the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum, but is also larger (100,240 to the Coliseum's 77,500 and the Rose Bowl's 92,542). Ticket sales would be split evenly between the two schools and their fans would be divided along the 50-yard line (a la Oklahoma-Texas).
1st, what's the definition of the west coast? 2nd. Is this the only football game that is played in the west coast? Whatever the definition of west coast game according to espn. Very vague.
You got that right. They lost a very good senior class from 2007. They had some inexperienced quarterbacks in 2008 (Kevin Craft was a kid fresh out of a JUCO). They had a shitty offensive line (no one on that unit made All-Pac 10 in '08) who wasn't very good at run blocking. The senior class for 2008 outside of Kahlil Bell, P Aaron Perez, and DT Brigham Harwell wasn't very good or productive. Bell was a good back, but he couldn't get the blocking (only 397 yards rushing) he needed in 2008.
@@Talkinsports91 I actually don’t believe he recruited well. All he did was try to get the highest star recruit regardless of position. His first year he took 4 running backs and 2 OL. 😂. Seriously. That’s how dumb he was. The Bruin fanbase is pretty bad/uneducated too. They would make excuses for RN or any UCLA coach. They would just say pass on any second tier linemen and never could figure out that it’s in the trenches where games are won or lost. RN and most all UCLA coaches play way too many true freshmen too. The landscape of college football has completely changed though. The transfer portal is a huge factor now. UCLA is now in the Big 10 and I don’t think they will ever have any glory years in the future. DeShaun Foster has no experience as a head coach. They did the same thing with Karl Dorrell.
