I know Hbcus are all about the show but after watching coldsteel for so many years, all of coldsteel shows look the same. Subtle changes here and there but nothing new. And from a drumline point of view mdfs definetly blew coldsteel out of the water and it was even worse on the band brawl

Would you rather go to see a performer with a hit record & lots of critical acclaim only to be underwhelmed by a stage performance with fireworks, lasers, & dancers dropping from the ceiling & then realize that she is an average singer at best OR go to see a performer with catalogs of hits, with fans who follow them from arena to arena, who rocks the crowd with a fabulous stage show (sans the special effects) & who makes YOU & everyone else in the arena feel the full spectrum of emotions & have you leave the show with your shirt wet with both sweat & tears? Riddle me that. Stylist are fads & their shelf life is short because there is always a new style or stylist hitting the scene. A great barber is a part of the family. Someone who can advise you on both skincare & what to get you sister for her graduation, you parents for their wedding anniversary & you wife for her promotion. Stylist don't do that. They're flashes in the pan who will be distant & faint memories whose names won't even be remembered properly. THEY ARE TEMPORARY & MOMENTARY. Their appeal will not last the test of time. You're intelligent so I'm sure you agree.

People dont go to the movies to hear a live version of the book being read. Just like the audience of this show didnt want to just see the cadences a drumline has. This is a SHOW with a STAGE. Regardless of how technical a drumline can be, it shpuld be a performance.

Stage is only so big for so many people. We already know all the snares can play and were willing to put in the work, but everyone wasn't fitting on that stage. So they had cutoff numbers and had people challenge for a spot on the stage.

A King's Kid It’s not bull because of all the moving around bodies through out the whole show. The more bodies, the more likely a collision would’ve happened. Could they have slapped all the snares on the stage? Now that I’m looking at the size from a top view, they probably could’ve. But I will agree that the whole section did have a cutoff number. In a performance, they have the entire section playing (Greensboro Cobra), but here they limited the size. Whatever the real reason was, we’ll never know.

Jon B well as long as you know that there room for them to be there is all I’m referring to. MD had 12. And they may not have did as much movement as CS, they still managed to work with what they had in the spacing.

Both lines obviously have skills but as far as of precision, accuracy and musicianship, I give it to MDFS...A&T can always put on a great show for the crowd but MDFS comes with more crisp and clear chops in my opinion from snares to the bass line but both lines lack some type of substance in their shows to me.

The bands battled face to face. If there were judges then mdfs would lose bc all they did was put cadences together for 5 minutes

Man mdfs got SMACKED! Everybody that says coldsteel lost don’t like cold steel period. Mdfs boring and their the same every time. Coldsteel keeps your attention. Plus it’s GHOE, don’t nobody wanna see no boring ass drum line.
