Great video once again Bram. I had a less than optimal evening and this video was a welcomed "Escape" in the morning. Thanks for the much needed smiles and laughter.
To repeat the words of Ryan : how the hell do you not have more subscribers 🤷♀️ this is entertaining to watch, funny and really well edited! I guess they are all on their way to discover your RU-vid channel this year.. They are missing out! Looking forward to the next one ☺️😎
Glad to see someone serving the ice cream. Saw on Cruise site someone saw a boy on a ship turned on machine and just opened his mouth with his head upside down letting the ice cream flow in. Crazy happenings......
Thank you for another great video... I finished my shift, coming home and watch your vlog. What a great Saturday, isn't it? 🎉😍 Looking forward to the next video and the 80's party. Thank you for bringing back amazing memories ❤
So annoyed though, I never learn. The prices have massively dropped - now starting at only €850pp for an inside cabin on my 10-day cruise. We paid so much more than the €1135pp NCL now want for a balcony cabin and as I’m in Europe, no chance of a price correction 😢
Our favorite sunset spot at the NCL Escape was the Waterfront, the Aperol before going to dinner watching the sunset in the comfortable seats is fabulous. And of the shows, Howl at the moon was incredible
I’m taking my adult daughter, Amy on her first cruise in 115 days. (August 2023) I booked NCL purely because of your channel Bram! and I told them when I booked that it was because of you. Also Bram, Thank you for giving me a caring hug emoji on Facebook when I had posted the sad news of the demise of my lovely mother in law.
Thanks for another video Bram. Surprised to see how empty Garden Cafe was. When we were on the Getaway last year, we had one section of Garden Cafe to ourselves, my wife and me. We like the Breakaway class ships.
Thanks for sharing, I think a lot has to do with timing. And this was late lunch. Also, the ship didn't feel like full capacity. I share your opinion on Breakaway class ships, my favorites too!
Another fantastic video in the can! You rocked with that free-throw shot on the basketball court. I'm certain there's a career for you in the NBA if you grow tired of this whole RU-vidr thing. 😄Dennis and I only do the buffet on rare occasions, but I've found NCL does a decent job with both their food selection and presentation. Keep on keeping on--as always, you have our support for your wonderful escapist art.
Another great video Bram, much prefer the casual walk round videos like this rather than formal ship tours - much more natural! That basketball trick reminds me of the one I did for my little lad in one of our shorts videos 😉 got to be done!
Fun fact: uk prime minister from the mid 1970’s Margaret Thatcher was part of the scientific community directly involved in the development of soft serve ice cream. It’s quite well know fact here in the uk, but it’s still worth sharing in my opinion.
Woke up to have coffee and watch the sun rise. Then always had my breakfast at the buffet as soon as they open and enjoyed it. Most of my other meals where in the restaurants.
We had a large group/family trip on the Escape for the week of Christmas (arrived back in port on Christmas Eve) so about 6 months after your trip, and it was packed, packed, packed. While the buffet was fine this definitely meant that it was always super crowded so I had some tendency to avoid it when I could. O'Sheehan's tended to work out well for good service and, while always having people there, still having seats available so that was more of my go-to for casual dining. That's been my only NCL cruise so far and I'm hoping my next one will be a bit less crowded and maybe I'll get a better feel for the cruise brand than that was. It was nice enough but I think the crowds caused a few issues, indeed I saw a few instances of what appeared to be a supervisor publicly berating another crewmember about their work, which is pretty unseemly but I attributed to the crowding and additional stress they were no doubt dealing with. They did have the golf course done by the time we sailed as well. Perhaps oddly I was impressed by the used of that bit of deck space where they put the bocce court and someone was always playing it, even, just as they were in your video when you passed by. I really enjoy bocce so it was one of my favorite things to see onboard... other than Syd Norman's, of course! Thanks for videos, as always!
Thanks for your comment! The timing of the cruise definately infuances the experience. Not just the number of people but also the kind of crowd. Working in the bar business myself, I always cruise off season, no other way. And reading this, that's a bonus. I have never been on any cruise that felt overcrowded, yet. Good to hear you keep an open mind and you take in account what the circomstances are. Any future cruise in mind?
@@BRAMSEASTHEDAY Oh agreed, I normally prefer off-season cruising as well (cheaper, too!) I'll be on another family trip cruise around the British Isles in late September/Early October (and a little extra shore time afterwards in London... my cousin lives in Abbingdon so we'll do some visiting with him and his wife) and an NCL trip out of my homeport of New Orleans for March of next year. Maybe another one this year to fit in a scuba diving excursion or two.. it's practically more convenient and cheaper than flying someplace to do that, although cruising prices have really started to go up lately! I take it you have some more cruises planned as well? You know how insatiable our appetites are for these videos, after all ;)
The buffet needs better monitoring of the temperature of the food. I got country fried potatoes at breakfast on either the Escape or Breakaway and it was cool to cold. I told the manager walking around and he went to check on it. The heaters under the trays of food have no light indicating the heat is on. A hand temp monitor could be pointed at food from time to time!
I hold my sarcasm more than I want to at times, because a lot of viewers don't get it. But you know what? You're right. It's not like I get paid for this. More sarcasm coming up!
@@BRAMSEASTHEDAY No idea what it was like before, that was my first time on the Escape. All I saw was the blank deck from your video and that when I went later there was a putt-putt course. Nothing super fancy. It looked nice, but not one of those courses with fancy windmills or something to time your shot through or anything like that. More a regular mini-golf course so it was probably similar to what it was before if I had to guess. Definitely nothing like what was on your videos from Prima, though, if that's what you meant
Not my first choice for food on any NCL ship. Mainly people behaviour, greed is obvious and massive waste. Also the temperature of the food is never anything other than tepid. Cannot understand why they don't have a microwave available to heat your food. Prefer The Local for breakfast.
Okay so different experience compared to me. Although it's also not my first choice. But never been dissapointed. Interesting to hear other peoples thoughts, thanks!
