Now that you've sailed on both the Prima and Viva, which do you prefer? I know they are sister ships. Any differences? Either one just seem better to you?
I was on Norwegian prima 6 months ago and I thought it was the worst cruise ship I've ever went on. I've been on six different cruises. The food wasn't that great the desserts get brought on board frozen and then defrosted. half the things on the ship did not work like the slides, water slides, miniature golf and game room all the onboard entertainment you could not see because there are too many people on the ship to be able to get a seat at any of the shows. You had to make reservations real far in advance. Never had to do that with any other ship before and this was a new ship. Lol
I love cruising. In fact, leaving again in a few weeks for Alaska this time. I have viewed MANY videos for different cruise ships, (mainly Norwegian as they are my favorite), and destinations for future trips. I must say, that I find your videos pleasing, and concise, with no extra "banter" trying to be funny or cute. The video work was smooth, annunciation was fantastic. Really a great job, well done. I'm a follower now. Thanks for all you do for us cruisers.

Production and editing quality is on point with this vid. You are getting really good at this! I'm not a cruiser and only have been on one NCL years ago an no plans to anytime soon. Not for sure why I stick around but I am! Keep it up!
Looks like a nice ship. Saying that NCL is always priced high and based on this video the majority of the attactions are further pay to play which makes it well into premium territory. The nickel and dining NCL is known for is very real here it seems.
beautiful ship but why is everything an extra charge?? even the adults only area is an upcharge. thats insane!!!! yea i will stick with RC and Carnival

It blows my mind that almost all of the activities on board are up charged, wanna golf-upcharge, wanna shoot darts-upcharge, wanna go to arcade-upcharge, wanna go kart-upcharge (this being the only one I can justify paying extra for). Wanna do anything but sleep and eat buffet-sorry that cost extra!
I'm seeing a trend post authoritarian lockdowns. These companies are getting brazen with nickel and diming customers. We shouldn't have to pay for their poor decisions if the last few years. Looks like land based trips for me going forward. F these companies

Justin this was one of your top videos! The ship is absolutely gorgeous but very expensive. Seems you have to pay for almost every experience. I have only been on Celebrity and it was very nice but didn't have all of the bells and whistles. I was on the Carnival Destiny on my honeymoon in 1998 but have no memories of it. This is very bad that ncl is charging for activities onboard. This trend will make other cruise lines start charging for onboard activities. I wouldn't pay $20 here and $8 there for something that should be included.🤷🏽♀️js

NCL always nickel and dimes folk, although I'd probably pay for Vibe, or the Haven of course. In the spa, I wonder if they have the heated chases like they do on the Gem. Wish this ship was coming to NYC.
I'm not 6 minutes into the video and I'm shocked how much extra most of these activities are!! Nickle and Diming is right! $10 for minigolf? $8 for the motorcycle arcade game. And the escape room - Absolute Joke!!! I do get charging for the go-karts, "top golf", maybe that upside down VR ride/game.
I am on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Sea ship now ! 7 years ago I was on the Norwegian 🚢 and stayed in the Haven! Best experience ever with the Butlers, check in process, special dining, private pools and vip access to the shows!

It definitely convinced me to have another look at NCL. I haven't been on one of their ships in quite a long time, but I do like that it's not one of those absurd "mega ships" catering to 5,000+ passengers.
The ship is beautiful, BUT the atrium looks like a 1980s shopping mall, the comedy club and Syd Norman's are ridiculously small, and those seats in the theatre are more uncomfortable than Spirit airline seats

Thanks for the review, J. Did you see a piano on the ship? We were on the Prima earlier this year. I did not see a single piano on the Prima. That was the first cruise ship I went on that does not have a single piano. I met a gentleman on the ship, who is a pianist. We joked that we should meet at the piano bar later in the evening. 😂

Looking fabulous. You, the lady behind the camera😅, ( bonjour @Lauren ) and the ship. It looks like a place I could easily enjoy a week or a month of, money & time permitting. As a middle age person the idea of an exclusive ship within a ship is appealing. Not all of us want the excitement of party town or kids. Love kids of course but yep, I understand the mindset. This could be an excellent ship & line for someone looking for a 1st cruise between ghetto and ultra-luxury say silverseas type. Thanks J and Lauren. Enjoy your trip and time together. So let me get this straight, After paying an upscale price for a new cruise ship the only thing I can do for free is lounge darts and mini golf now cost money 😮😢
Really enjoyed this video. The Viva is gorgeous and your highlights of the different areas were great. Hubby and I are big fans of NCL and favor the smaller ships.
Thanks, this was helpful. A couple practical questions remain unanswered - is there a passenger laundry where we can wash clothing (on a long cruise)? Shops - is there an odds and ends shop where we can get things like a baseball cap with NCL logo, and other less expensive souveniers, and maybe things like toothpaste if we forgot it?
Ship looks beautiful, but I really don't like having to pay to do pretty much everything on the cruise. I like paying one price and having most things included
Where do they do the night parties such as Glow etc? Doesn't look to have big open space like Spice H20 on Breakaway class ships or even a big pool deck like Jewel class.
I'll be going on this ship in Feb 2024. The ship is beautiful and full of attractions. It's a newer ship and we paid for it $$$. The issue I have is after paying thousands to go it, hardly anything is complimentary. Our excursions were several hundred dollars more which is to be expected but on board there is an upcharge for everything and it looks like a mall on water. I hope we have a relaxing time and I'll check back in after we cruise on it.
