For question 5 option a wasn’t there you wouldn’t call the MD first! You would need to obtain blood pressure to see if they are hypertensive because if you call the MD and they ask for the blood pressure and you don’t have one you will 1) look ridiculous and 2) not giving them necessary information related to vital signs

SATA questions you do not get partial credit on. You have to pick all the right answers, if you pick a wrong, you get it wrong. It’s only nextgen that you get partial credit
Ughhh number 5, I literally rationalized every answer I said fluid overload etc etc I wanted to see stop infusion and I didn’t so I chose remove IV cath. I knew it was running fast I just was thinking this is is happening slowing it is just going to make this patient still have the symptoms ughhh
Hello Dr Sharon! I am not sure I understand the reasoning for the question about the infusion and volume overload. Shouldn't we stop the infusion completely, not just slow it down?
I was thinking the same thing. I initially selected take the iv out since the other option was to just slow it down and we need to stop it. I really wouldn’t want to take the iv out but of those options it’s the only want to stop the infusion.
Q5. Why one would call the HCP first, while the patient is overloaded (600ml/45 min) with dextrose fluids (dyspnea), some reaction (chills), vasodialation, water intoxication (pounding headache), and just let the fluid running, with a malfunctioning pump??? Nclex or not, there should be an option to stop the infusion.
