April 25, 2024: A delegation from the bureau of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People carries out a working visit to Guyana.
During the first day in the Caribbean nation, the delegation was received by the Guyanese president, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, who availed the opportunity to reiterate his country's commitment to the principles of peace, justice and equity.
The Committee expressed its gratitude to the Guyanese President and people for their support to Palestine, especially during Guyana's presidency of the UN Security Council and for raising funds to assist the Palestinian people.
In the various activities scheduled in Committee's visit programme, discussions were held, among other topics, on the strengthening of solidarity and actions in support of the cause of the Palestinian people.
The delegation is composed by the permanent representative of Senegal to the UN and Chair of the Committee, Ambassador Cheikh Niang; the permanent observer of Palestine to the UN, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, and the permanent representative of Cuba to the UN and vice chair of the Committee, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán.
