Did you ever do a tutorial for the electronics? It looked pretty self explanatory (though I got lost when you got to the resistor part). I have never wired anything before, so any help or suggested tutorials would be appreciated.
The helmet turned out amazing, but I couldn't find the pattern on the website. I wanted to use this model for another project I have, the Helghast from Killzone
that helmet looks like it came right from the game! that is so cool! I've tried for almost two years to make my helmets to look right. the patterns and this video help a lot. thanks!
Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for these incredible tutorials and templates. I've contemplated making this suit for awhile now but have always been intimidated, especially as I've never done anything like this before. But these guides are fantastic and have really helped me take the leap and actually build my own!
I just spent 2 days prototyping one myself to later find this and my mental status is not very high so I will say thank you so much for making the plans free as I don't know how much longer I could prototype
I just skipped over to the face-mask section due to my aforementioned preference of using M-1 helmet liners. This method definitely looks more effective and flush than what I first did back in 2019 with the random templates and the too-thick foam I was using at the time. Not going to discard my earlier work, but I feel like making a second go-around at the gas-mask portion and also adding some lights and a fan kit into it after seeing all this. Better late than never when it comes to tutoring ones self on the various construction methods.
what size paper was used for the template lol, just kinda worried about how big it should be so the measurements stay true to whats written on the schematic
This is going to be my first build for Halloween and I don’t have any foam laying around, do you have a list of supplies for this helmet? It would help a lot.
Okay I'm starting to get into this myself, but the only question I have is, "What do you use for the lenses? Do I just buy a pair of red lense goggles and cut them up to fit?
This is astonishingly great stuff. It's a real shame the videos never got the attention they deserve. I hope RU-vid algorithms will start recommending that content to a wider audience, because the potential for success is absolutely there. Like to dislike ratio is telling all one needs to know
@@emptycart2551 I can’t remember. You can always just pick a size since it’s not overly visible. Just pick a size akin to like 1” or 1.5” and drill out where it goes accordingly
Great video! I'm about to try this myself. Just wondering how you size the templates before printing, will the helmet pages need sized up or do they fix according to A4?
Great tutorial I'm so building this for my brothers birthday! Could you possibly tell me what foam thickness to use? Edit: never mind I just saw it on the template
Amazing video!! When printing the helmet template I'm presuming I'm printing on A3 paper, is the chest template a4 in post style? Complete noob to this stuff so appreciate any help 😊
@@ashenwarriorprops i nerver use the HD foam before so sorry for the question but I find a site where I can buy it but they don't have 4mm and in your template there is piece whit 4mm so how can do? and when I got the HDfoam I need to stamp the piece on the HD Foam or....?
www.dickblick.com/products/sks-props-hd-foam-rolls/ Here’s the link. They do have 4mm as well. Sorry I if I didn’t answer the whole question, having a slightly hard time understanding.
@@ashenwarriorprops English is not my first language so it's my fault sorry, when i get the HD Foam do i have to print the pieces of the pdf on this or something else? sorry my bad English
These tutorials are EXCELLENT!! Thank you all so much for making these AND providing the templates for free!! That's awesome. I do have a question (and sorry if this has been answered elsewhere)--do you happen to know approximately how much of each thickness of foam is needed for each piece of armor? No worries if not. I know you've probably moved on to other projects and that's fine, I'm just tryin to figure out what I would need to order to get started on some NCR armor. Anyway, thank you all again. I'm so glad I ran across this channel (-':
Man I wished his channel got more recognition and I kind of hoped he would make a video showing the cutting of the template since this is gonna be my first time messing around with foam for cosplay
love the art! I'm actually trying to download the template myself but the links on the webpage only bring up winRAR or something which my computer doesn't run. is there a pdf or other printable version?
Maybe I just suck but, I found it impossible to build this. Maybe the glue sucks, or my cuts suck or borh, but the lines were all off, and none of the sides would hold together. I shoulda just have paid someone to make this
@ashenwarriorprops I honestly didn't expect a reply from anyone that fast! It turns out I had some slight jagged lines and had a missprint. allongggg with bad glue, so gonna retry in a few, I absolutely love this cosplay you made, and thanks for the offer. Can I ask for help later on?
Hi Ashen, would you mind to make/share a tutorial on how to wire the flashlight and the led? As a total noob I'm having a hard time trying to figure how to do that part. Also thanks for the hard work and the free templates and tutorials!
I REALLY want this to be my first craft and I wanted to ask a favor, could you please reply to my comment with all the tools necessary to build this? I know the HD foam, the sanding paper and the glue, but I don’t know if that’s all of it? If you could respond that would be greatly appreciated and I’m glad to see this video still getting views years later, have a good one!
This is kind of a finicky detail question but I'm making my shopping list for this build--is the 0.75" for the corrugated split tube the inner diameter or outer diameter? Thanks!
@@ashenwarriorprops ah alright, I was asking because I have not been able to find any other models as accurate as yours openly available. Even some paid ones are a little iffy. Thank you for the reply however
What a fantastic tutorial and templates, thankyou so much for the time you have put into this, building mine now!- love the editor interjections and humour in the tutorial, and no- nonsense commentary, absolutely brilliant!
@@ashenwarriorprops ok, but I’m still cutting out the templates and there’s no Left side for the helmet bucket part and I looked through the templates and I’m kind of confused😅
@@ashenwarriorprops 64? That's insane, you must be able to pimp out a helmet in 5 minutes by now, the fact that you don't have one yourself, at the moment, is wild. as far as commission work, are you still accepting it, how could I contact you, and what is the average price for the NCR set?
@@larxzl7711 pumping out is maybe a stretch. My schedule is rapidly filling up again. I’m booked almost all the way thru 2024 and into 2025, but the email via my website or Instagram DMs are where I do most business!
I’m thinking of trying to build my first helmet ever and just wanted to know what thickness the done foam should be. Also when I print out the template how do I make sure they are the right size?
Do you know if a pair of glasses would fit under it? I looked in the comments and couldn't find anyone saying either way, and I'd prefer not to cut out a bunch of foam just to find out I need to adjust the pattern to fit them
@@ashenwarriorprops such a fast reply i appreciate it. (i got a 22.5” noggin at a fine 5’8) do you think i’d have to size down? is that even possible to do? i mean with the templates, i ASSUME you know but not sure who else to ask but thanks for your reply to my last question 🙏🏻
I will say an in depth video on the electrical stuff would be much appreciated. Finding the materials and ensuring I have the correct wiring makes my small caveman brain hurt. If not no worries, great stuff and hope to see more.
hey I am very new to this is there a specific grit sanding band I should use with the Dremel? since I will be sanding it after to smooth everything out I'm not sure it matters but thought it was worth it to ask anyway
Does anyone know what sizes all the pieces have to be? I printed them all on standard printer paper but im scared they might be either too big or too small so if anyone has proper measurements could you please tell me them it'd be greatly appreciated
I know this is an old comment, but I would print out the basic pieces and glue them together, just paper, and see how that fits your head. It won't be exact because the paper is thinner than the foam, but it should give you an idea of if this will fit your head or not. He also replied to another comment and said it seems pretty one size fits all. If it's loose, you can also add in some padding foam
