Johnny does have that midwestern accent. Like how some midwestern vowels are messed up. He pronounces 'aunt' as 'ant', 'bad' as 'beiid', 'coffee' as cah-ffee', 'not' as 'naht', 'the' as 'da' etc. Sometimes it's gets unnoticed because of his lisp (which is absolutely the cutest).

I just love the thought that VERNON always gives emphasis on how culturally Korean he is... I just love him so much for standing up though he had received so much racist response when he was a kid in Korea. He stopped going to school because he thought no one understands him at school. He was just a kid, he wanted to eat the toast that his mom made. Kid Vernon had went through a lot and he managed to be the best version of himself today. I am so proud of him... The feeling when you went to school and then your classmates will be looking at you like 'oh here's the white kid speaking Korean'. It was painful on his part since he wanted to be belong. If you look at the songs that he composed and written (trauma, lezzie Vilasquez etc) you'll feel the emotion he had went through just by being white. Did you know that Lezzie Vilasquez is a song inspired by a real person with the same name? Its a song wherein you'll feel that physicalilty don't usually matter. As long as your heart is consistent of what is good. Your face nor the color of your skin do not defines you as a person. You can search Lezzie Vilasquez, she's an amazing woman with an amazing heart. 😄 I just want to flex Vernon since sometimes he was just known to be that foreign members of SEVENTEEN in New York and the visual part... Uri Vernon is more than just a foreign member. He's one of the best person I've known. He's one in a million. He may not be the best rapper according to him on one of their hit song 'expectation' but he got something big within his heart. I hope one day, people will see him as CHWE HANSOL who works hard for SEVENTEEN and CARATS, someone who is good in making his masterpiece, someone who loves his parents, someone who is very humble when it comes to physicality, someone who is very passionate of his work, someone who treasures his sister, someone whom Carats and Seventeen can lean on, someone who inspires other people just by being poetic and open minded... Vernon was only in the states for 5 years and he has more of an American accent than Johnny! He learned English from his American mother, whereas Johnny had two Korean parents who both had accents. So, no matter how much English a child picks up from school, clubs, and friends, there's also the larger influence of the language/accents used at home. My friend's parents are from India, and even though he sounds very American, there are words he mispronounces constantly because he heard them spoken that way from his parents all his life hahaha.
