Like everything NCT does, it's all based on their dream concept. Hence, why in NCT-127's "Favorite (Vampire)" they are vampires and why you see them sleeping in the beginning and end of the MV. Jaehyun was bit by the vampire which is the girl they sing about and she is the one that turned them all into vampires. It's the intoxicating power of the vampire girl that has them enchanted, which is why they say "girl you're my favorite" in the lyrics. They are beguiled by her powers, which has them devoted to her. This is also why you see them with supernatural vampire abilities like when they flash in and out as they transition between the members. (Often in romantic vampire stories they say the vampires have a shimmering effect.) The butterfly is thought to represent the woman or vampire they are talking about in the song -- instead of turning into a bat, maybe she turns into a butterfly -- which is why you see the butterfly touching their hearts. You also will see a butterfly appear in several of SM's other groups' MVs, which is often used as a metaphor to represent a woman -- possibly representing a connection to the heart of the Tree of Life from EXO's storyline -- in each of the MVs, as a way to connect all of SM's storylines together. For example, in aespa's storyline starting in 2020 Ningning's symbol is a butterfly, which is thought to possibly be connected to the butterfly we see in EXO's debut "Mama" MVs from 2012, and it's even thought could be connected to the butterfly in SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" MV from 2009. It also could be the butterfly that helps aespa navigate through Kwangya in aespa's recent "ep. 2 'Next Level' -- SM Culture Universe" video, which would explain why we see a similar butterfly in all of SM's storylines. The butterfly appears to help everyone as they travel through Kwangya. Some say the "girl" or "love interest" that EXO -- and possibly now the rest of SM's groups -- is always singing about and you sometimes see in their MVs is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life and that is why they are always rescuing or protecting the girl, etc. And why all their songs are about being in love with someone or being controlled by the power of that person, like they talk about in "Favorite (Vampire)". Or how they talk about knowing they are bad news for the girl but they want her anyway and they can't help it, but in the end they know they might destroy her -- as they say in EXO's song "Monster," etc., etc. When you think of the girl as the heart of the Tree of Life the storyline and connections between the groups begins to unfold even more. If you're impressed with NCT-127's dancing in their "Favorite (Vampire)" MV, just wait until you see their dance practice for the song.There's more to this choreography than what you see in the MV. There is an even more epic intro section that was added to the performance that is only in the dance practice.

The producer of Sticker is Dem Jointz. Dwayne Allen Abernathy Jr. from Compton CA. Dem Jointz's can be recognized by his "Incoming!" producer tag in the beginning on the songs he produces. He has produced many songs/albums for SM artists. Red Velvet, Shinee, EXO, Super Junior and NCT. He most recently produced for BTS Proof and J-Hope's Jack In The Box. He has also produced a long list of tracks/albums for notable American music artists.

Now that you have heard the English version of NCT-127's "Regular, if you haven't already, you should also check out NCT-127's Korean version and WayV's Mandarin version. And once you have done that, you should then look up the lyrics to all 3. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for the Korean and Mandarin versions and compare them to the English version you will see that even though it's the same beat and the same title, the lyrics are different for all 3 songs. (The Korean MV is slightly different from the English version because the lyrics are different, so the story they are telling is different.) For example, like everything NCT does, it all has to do with some aspect of a dream. In the English version what you see are all things that people would dream are possible when they have all the fame and fortune in the world. I think it's supposed to be like they are characters within a crazy dream world. In the English version the tiger is used as a big flex to show that they are so rich and famous that they can even command the respect of a tiger. However, you will see in the Korean version the tiger is more of a symbol of courage and bravery, as a way to symbolize how they are working hard to be their best selves. For "Regular" Jongwoo has officially debuted as a member of NCT-127, so now there are 10 members in NCT-127. Fun fact: WinWin is the only member who is in all 3 versions of "Regular" because he is a member of both NCT-127 and WayV. (I believe this is the last MV, so far, where we see WinWin as a member of NCT-127. It was released in 2018 and WayV debuted in the beginning of 2019.) If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" are almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why in WayV's MV you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. "Regular" was technically WayV's debut song as well. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different, besides the fact that they are in 3 different languages. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D

Your comment about "Sticker" was right on. When 127 got the demo and listened to it the majority of the members were less than thrilled. They didn't think people would like it or get the musical contrasts. But they took it, added their flavor to it, and made it awesome. The demo was miles from the final awesome version 127 made it into. Us nctizens say this is a music genre that only NCT 127 can pull off and well.
