Cuz they're just having too much fun talking such things which makes it look like they're intentionally joking about it for us.. *Cuz never have I ever seen any kpop group promoting their ships like this, NEVER , AND WILL NEVER* plus they're also acting(kissing, to be correct) too much, which is again a behaviour I've never seen in anyone. Dreamies really never care about any tea spreading about them, they're just aggressively vocal of their love and friendship, which makes me weirdly happy
All kpop groups know about their popular ships and what the fans are thinking of them. Like listen. You think they don't read comments on their own videos? Imagine if you were a kpop idol. Wouldn't you try to understand what fans think about you and what they like the most? Every idol knows about the popular ships of themselves. Most companies also know about them because they want to know what fans think and want so that they can sell it. Which is why there is that SMRookies video of Markhyuck (with Haechan acting as female (Seulgi)) and why there are so many Markhyuck song covers. And also similarly Nomin and Chenji youtube content. Every kpop group is like this. Like so many Taekook moments in BTS MV's, so many Minsung (Stray Kids) and Yeonbin (TXT) moments in vlives, etc. Now here starts my speculation: What's interesting about NCT Dream is that like some other groups (EXO, BTS) they have been together for a long time. They are NOW uncomfortable with their own ships (Markhyuck, Nomin, and Chenji) so they are trying to promote other ships rather than their own (like how Mark and Chenle ship Renhyuck and Nosung). Haechan is uncomfortable with Markhyuck so he goes after Renjun so fans will ship them more. Same with Jeno. He is uncomfortable with being shipped with Jaemin now so he goes after Jisung.
The companies and artists knowing the ships, companies promoting it, members diverting the attention of one ship and promoting new ships-- I also agree. But them going after someone just to make another ship or companies themselves creating first ships sounds more awkward, makes their love seem fake, it sounds more disgusting and inhumane tbh -- so idk whether I'd agree with it or not
100% there maybe some instances of that. But I don't think Felix/Changbin was created in advance, I think they kinda got along and the company had already informed them of the popularity of shipping, so they just decided, hey 'let us act this out with each other' and the rest is history. I think JYP would have gone for Chan/Felix instead.

I've been an nctzen since rookie days and I have a good gaydar and sense of who is in what relationship ( I've already predicted a lot of celebs and people from my life that r pretty much married now aha, yes I'm proud.). Anyway I know them enough to know that they are just bestfriends, like all dreamies are like family. If you notice closely legit this is how they are with the rest of dream, they've been together since they were kids so of course they'd be close. I never really had a problem with nomin ship cuz like shipping is a normal kpop thing and i do it too, but sometimes it goes too overboard. Maybe them being far apart is because of the shipping or maybe they have just grown apart. No one knows, but I see them acting the same way they did when they were rookies, I just think Mark's graduation affected them a lot, but now that he's back things r starting to go back, but it's still different ( they are adults now so, ofcourse it's different). But they're obviously more than bestfriends but definitely less than lovers. The term *Soulmates* isn't just for lovers anyway. And Yes! it's maybe because they basically grew up together like real brothers so they're not awkward with each other and since they're adults now and basically still young and they're in the awkward stage of life lol were they have just learned what they should and shouldn't do to have less more misunderstandings from the fans. Cuz I think they really changed the moment they turned 20.
