I can't be the only one that thought that Johnny and Jaemin weren't really needed there? Lol. Xiaojun & Yuta did so well just by themselves, but when the MCs gave them commands they suddenly turned stiff & the convo wasn't flowing as smoothly. :')
I feel like that was the point. The MCs intentionally made things more awkward between the two, it was like that with every pairing. The two on the “date” had to deal with all the awkward commands the MC told them to do, but you notice the pairs were always less awkward when they weren’t interrupted by the MCs or when they became MCs themselves. Like Johnny and Jaemin we’re definitely less awkward as MCs than they were during their episodes. I think it’s like “well, since you’ve done all these awkward things on this date, nothing can be awkward between you two now.” Plus it’s more entertaining to have MCs controlling the date. Like, yes they could've just had the 2 people sit there and talk and do activities but at the same time, they're making content for fans to watch so they're going to up the antics by adding in MCs to control the pair to keep things interesting. At the end of the day, it’s all in good fun and it was made for entertainment for the fans.
well xiaojun and yuta never really were “ awkward “ they just didn’t train at the same time and they aren’t in the same units. that’s why it isn’t awkward at all. xiaojun saying that he was always scared of yuta because he looked intimidating blew up within our fandom so this honestly just was bcs of that and to get xiaojun over that assumption. 😭 also yuta himself is never awkward with anyone, he’s always so chill lmao
That’s the point of the whole show. They make things even more awkward to actually release the tension and after the awkward moments they have on the show the ones that they believed were awkward/uncomfortable before aren’t anymore because they passed that level already.
