.. been there, done that. Would never do it again. Poor quality tenants that trash your house because they don’t know any better or care generally . Can’t claim anything as bond paid from DHS and have to go through VCAT or similar to get a cent which is pricey to apply for / pay agent to do and impossible as they say “ fair wear and tear “ !!!! To everything from piss stained/saturated carpets to countless marks/ dents etc etc. Very little care factor from tenants as government housing.
Hey PK, what would be your thoughts on renting to a disability support company? The whole NDIS situation is all on them and I would just be letting my property to their company with normal lease terms. Very minimal work on the property required and they organise their own tenant including 24/7 support workers living at the home. I thought given I don’t have to deal with NDIS directly the fact that they manage the property and tenants it could be a good low maintenance tenancy for me with low chance of them falling behind on rent. What do you think?
