Well-known Zimbabwean singer and guitarist, Sinyoro Jackson Chinembiri, performs "Ndisungeiwo", concerning a man who asks to be tied up because he is crazy!
I recorded this and two other songs at St. Richard's Mission in Murambinda, Zimbabwe on 28th. May, 1987.

Fabulous, authentic, witty, poetic, dramatic. It's such a shame the world get to meet this remarkable gentleman posthumously. He was atrue genious of the genre and to the Shona culture as a whole. I was priviledged to have seen this man perform at Mbizi School. ABSOLUTELY SPLENID.

I wish if i was a grown up during this man's lifetime i could have converted my pocket money to his welfare.I shed tears if i look at the kind of shoes wch he used to wear in front of the seemingly working class.

Shear talent which unfortunately was not harnessed. The guy was born to be a musician/entertainer. Unfortunately he is hardly mentioned in the anals of Zimbabwean Music. RIP Sinyoro....you did my Njanja Clan proud!

I had the privilege or seeing him twice in '85 at Chibuku Festival and '86 at our school, the song is in five parts or verses, the first line he is saying "restrain me i have gone crazy or insane ", it is about a child visiting grandma, the child is used to seeing and eating Sadza prepared with corn (maize) flour, when grandma prepares it with a different cereal Mhunga and Rapoko which have different colours to corn flour, the child refuses saying can not eat food which looks a English khaki cloth and the other one is like brown shoe polish, he is commenting about the need to educate our children early enough about different things in the world.

@JandritoBlues The song is being sung in the Shona language. It is a humurous song, in which the singer requests that God (Baba) tie him up (ndisungeiwo) because he is crazy (dzakadambuka).

bhururu this is zimbabwean comedy at its best songs from the olden tea parties when black pple couldn't play in public which saw the birth of shebeens in the townships the lyrics are classic the comic humour will be lost in translation but literally it's saying ps ps dad help me tie them up for me they are broken (in reference to brains) if you are a wise man this is the equivalent to Charlie Chaplin or Laureal & Hardy for us Zimbabweans ufortunately i couldn't translate it to you coz of space

I'm transfixed! Shona speaking brothers and sisters - I'm an elementary music teacher and I would love to see a translation of even just one verse of his story, let alone the whole thing, or the chorus for that matter. Or maybe just make a video slowly teaching the pronunciation of the chorus? Please?! I'm plucking it in G and loving every minute of it.

The rest he's doing a social commentary on various issues and making his experience the subject of comedy in song...kind of like Champion Jack Dupree would do
