The Bison stunned the football world Friday night when they defeated Big 12 champion Kansas State in the last minute at a sold out crowd in Manhattan, KS.
I'm a proud North Dakota Sioux fan....as much as I don't like to seeing the Bison win, I am very happy for them and for the University. Keep it up Bison, UND is coming!!!!!
wow who ever was the editor for this video and critiqued it to how it is on here on youtube, deserves so much credit. That video really made me the sheer importance of the game to this NDSU team, that they were just a FCS team that FBS team from such a prestigious conference could have just wiped the floor with them. And it takes you on the ride of a hype college football game and invites you into the tradition of football. Overcoming adversity, being courageous and strong even at times of mistakes and weakness. Great Video, congrats NDSU on the win.
As a k-state fan, I take my hat of to NDSU. Their fans travel amazingly well, and they have a football team that I think would win up to 10 games a season in the FBS. You guys deserved this win.
As a Die Hard Wildcat fan i have to give credit where credit is due you guys played a great game!! Good Luck to the rest of your season! The fact that a small school like that can travel like a big school like K-State or Alabama is amazing!!
No shit! As a Husker fan I'm yet to meet one. During their decent run in late 90's and early 2000's they didn't know how to win with any class. NU has a entire building dedicated to trophies, Conference titles, National titles and Heisman trophies. K-State could fit all theirs in a suit case. Awesome win NDSU!
Only one way to go and that's forward. The simple fact that people are talking about moving NDSU to the FBS is AMAZING!!!! I was a fan when we were D2 and now we are beating teams like KSU. Never in a million years would I have believed this 10 years ago!
20 years ago most NDSU fans would have rather added a hockey program than make the jump to 1AA, and now they all say the same thing about making the move to FBS.
Don't take it personally. We hate teams for only one week a year and then its over, win or, in this case, lose. Except KU. We hate them year 'round. It comes from watching helplessly for decades as your team gets thumped day in and day out. Last year we were voted in the top five of angriest fan bases in the nation. It's a little sick but we're kind of proud of it. Pete Carol said we were the most intimidating crowd he's ever faced. Didn't show much last Friday, though. Good Luck guys!
Wow. Just checked some info. Oregon lost to Stanford; Stanford lost to Utah; Utah lost to Oregon St; Oregon St lost to Sam Houston St; Sam Houston St lost to McNeese St; McNeese St lost to Northern Iowa; Northern Iowa lost to NDSU. Should we let them and Bama duke it out for the threepeat?
oh yeah when i saw the score scroll across the bottom of the screen, i did a double take. then i had to go online to stare at the score on my phone for like a full minute for it to sink in.
no but we can compare the fact that they are an fbs school and they draw in more nfl bound players than fcs school and they are given more scholarships for that reason and they have a shit load more money than an fcs school and they are playing under the same coach so those are things we can compare
Still, as good as NDSU is, K-state had an off-year that season. I'd have liked to see them play K-State the previous year. Maybe they'll play each other again, or somehow join the big 12? Probably not, but that would be awesome.
Just so you know, every time NDSU has beaten an FBS team, the FBS team's fans all say this exact same thing. Trust me, you'll see Oregon fans making all the same excuses 18 months from now.
Unbelievable how many fans NDSU had at that game. You guys have single handily made people focus on the FCS. I think you should join the Mountain West and if you dominate that, who knows, join my Pac12 or the Big12 in a few years. I think the Pac12 will eventually go to 16 (an change name) with Texas Tech, Boise, BYU and one other..
Good video, but please go back to last years editing style of more color commentary/fan cheering/game noise and less music. The music was distracting. Otherwise it was brilliantly edited.
NDSU to FBS conference wouldn't be in their best interest, NDSU said themselves they don't want that transition. They'd go from big fish in little pond to sardine in the ocean. Depth, injuries, and only having one week to prepare for FBS competition would severely deplete them. They'd be allowed more scholarships yes, but who of high fbs caliber would take the extra offers if they can even afford them. Other smaller, lower tier fbs schools would tell you it's not that simple.
i can watch this video over and over. people keep saying ksu isnt a good team, ndsu cant play the big dogs and stand ground. well i dont care how bad you think kstate is or ndsu for that matter but just look at the stats for that last drive and for the second half of the game even we were down and then we scored 17 unanswered points and the last possession ate basically the rest of the clock and scored at the last second to win the game i dont care what team it is, if a team can do that they deserve recognition specially against a "better" team
Amigo, if NDSU had played my Texas Longhorns at the beginning of the year, NDSU would have won by at least 4 TD's. For that matter, if NDSU had played Texas at any point of the season, more than likely, you all would have won.
I like how people automatically write-off smaller schools like NDSU because ESPN says they can't compete! yet historically the proof to the contrary is staring you in the face. Towson who is playing NDSU tomorrow for the national championship beat uconn this year and took the mighty LSU tigers to the wire last year in baton rouge. JMU beat Va tech a couple years ago and eastern washington, who Towson beat in the semi's two weeks ago, beat oregon state this year. Lets not forget the old appalachian state in the michigan tail pipe a few years ago. Where do you think Boise state came from, they went from a D-2 power to an FBS power in ten years, beating the sooners and AD peterson in the process!
I would say they could definitely compete, the Kansas State game wasn't their best performance. I don't know if they would win again those schools because they are obviously at a different level (FBS) but NDSU wouldn't be destroyed with this particular group of seniors. Anywho, we won't know until they actually play or move up.
They can compete with some schools but not most. Yeah Towson did beat Uconn but they also went 3-9.. Oregon state went 7-6. Personally I don't think they can compete on a weekly schedule with FBS teams and couple of to 15 teams. Everybody has there opinion and I respect yours.
Actually, there are four NDSU players that will either be drafted or signed as an undrafted rookie free agent. Billy Turner OT NDSU 5th-6th round projection Marcus Williams CB NDSU 6th-7th round projection Brock Jensen QB NDSU Undrafted Rookie Free Agent Cole Jirik DE NDSU Undrafted Rookie Free Agent
Okay.... Since FBS is having playoffs I really think FC and FBS should combine into one Division 1. Then Alabama and the other SEC teams wouldn't be so big and hot.
I'm sorry, but Kansas State is not "one of the best FBS teams in the nation. " still a tremendous win for an underrated program that is slowly gaining the respect they deserve
At the time, KSU was in talk of the BCS title game the year before the Bison played them to open the season. NDSU has done things that not the average college football fan would know, or can even understand. They've made football history and may get a 5th straight championship!! #GoBison!
Derrick Smith that is little to cocky saying Alabama im not ssying NDSU would lose but don't get to far from earth NDSU needs to figure out they're QB and HB situation.
+Spencer Sundlie Easton Stick, with the Seniors Chase Morlock and King Frazier are going to do amazing next year! I'm also excited about Bruuuce Anderson being a sophomore only!! :)
