Hey Lumi this was very nostalgic and epic! Your DotA 1 casts really have a different feel than your Dota 2 casts. It felt again like the old Luminous48 I felt I knew so well just because of his casting and when he sometimes talked about himself. These days you seem to have other priorities and don't replay cast as much. I miss the old days when if I didn't see one of your commentaries for a couple of days I would miss you and think: "man I really want to watch some Luminous right now"

But it wasn't especially known because of the Warcraft 3 ladder priority. Starcraft Brood War was lingering, too, for almost eight years around that time.

Thanks for dota1 commentaries lumi , its awesome and we love it!! If y find good dota1 pub replays would be great.

WR shackle was that broken in dota 1. Back then i think the back-angel was wider aswell as it was prioritsing heroes over creeps. But yeah, Sick game

It isn't that old school. There are arcane boots. In old school DotA there was an arcane ring _noone_ bought.

If you want to talk dota history then refer to when aegis could be bought or when bashers stacked. Of course I remember arcane ring (in fact I bought it on potm) but during that time dota wasn't that competitively known because of ladder.

I do feel that you take your recent casts less seriously than the old ones. I miss the tryhard Lumi that always wanted to improve his casting. These days you resort a lot more to making jokes. Maybe it's your way to deal with the thought that there are other casters that play by play better than you? I don't think your play by play is bad at all, I think it's awesome the way that you can follow a teamfight that is happening in 2 or 3 different places at the same time.

Luminous, you are the best person associated with this game. Your casting is epic, when you're play you're epic and you've got good knowledge on this game. Great for laughs while still informative. And yes I realise that still sounded gay. Oh well. Sorry for rant, I just felt like posting all of my thoughts right now :P

There was a time when Dota allowed for unlimited buybacks as long as you had the gold. Probably means scourge just always spent their money on items and didn't save for bb. Not sure if this was already changed in this game though..

Back in the day it was a lot more popular. The item is pretty much the same, but these days you have a lot more alternatives, some builds were not made popular yet and some heroes were just straight up played differently.

we need a buyback counter on this one cause shit just looks broken to me. sentinel bought back like 10 times to defend and scourge couldnt bought back once? what the actual fuck just happend there?

My best Dota 1 game was my team against megacreeps defending the exposed tree of life with crow who teleport on it making it invulerable while antimage and me dragonknight raped their base :D

I used to play in competetive teams with most of those German players and nowadays I am told what a huge noob I am every time I play a pub. Feels bad.

Antimage could have simply gotten a bkb.. and all the hex will be useless! And i believe back then bkb last longer than our latest patch now..

the midas bug is when you last hit the creep while the midas projectile also touches the creep you get double gold, its pretty hard to do it

crystal maiden is one of my best heroes in dota 2...and i almost always max aura first. i do not appreciate your trash talking that skill build.

There was no buyback timer at this point (I think) And it just means Scourge never saved up enough gold for buybacks because DERP
