So, is this a different category than normal judo? Focused just on grappling? I am really liking this, but I thought judo was more throws so I am not sure if it’s all the same or different? Great video though 👍
This channel is super amazing, there is nothing like this out there so i have to thank you for these beautiful uploads, please keep on with this amazing work man, Ossu
@@GrapplerKingdom Right after I asked this I went to research on the IJF and saw it I am amazed how complete is Judo. I am actually thinking to start training.
That's great, you should definitely give it a try. When it comes to leg grabbing, long story short is that the IOC put some pressure on IJF to make sport more attractive for viewers and leg grabbing was on of the main targets (a lot of judokas used a tactic of getting a small score with leg grabbing throw and then stalling for the rest of the match). This made a lot of matches boring and look like freestyle wrestling match with gi, so eventually IJF took the easiest route and banned all leg grabbing techniques. There are more theories an reasons discussed online, but this one seems to be the main one.
Thanks, Travis Stevens would be no brainer, if he would still be actively competing. Nyman barely missed this list, but if/when I'll make part 2 he'll be there.
Your clip is good as usual but your pespective of newaza is biased toward choke and joint lock techinques I want you to see the following data 2015-2019 Newaza Ippons at the Olympics and the world championships *Japanese women 58 wins 1 loss* *mongolian women 17 wins 9 losses* *chinese women 15 wins 9 losses* *french women 15 wins 14 losses* *brazilian women 13 wins 10 losses* this data shows how Japanese women are at the very top on the ground both in offense and defense nevertheless, many people seem to have not interest in them I suppose because they rely heavily on pinning techniques I admit that pinning is less attractive relative to submission But I think It's the most sound method to win on the ground in Judo competitions
Yes, I can't deny I like submissions more than pins, but I totally agree that pins are the most effective way to win on the ground in Judo and there are more than enough material to make multiple separate videos about Japanese woman doing them, they are, for sure, one step above against most of their opponents, just not sure how interesting it would be, as after few minutes the video would become pretty monotonous for most people.
Bilodid has the best triangle for sure, but beyond that her arsenal is not so versatile. I think about doing part 2 with some additional Ne Waza specialists. Bilodid and Garrigos will probably be in that list.
@@GrapplerKingdom Bilodid has only the best triangle, but she won lot of contests with this triangle and she should be between the best judokas in newaza. And it is question if Uta Abe is better in newaza than Monteiro for example. And Garrigos is good idea.
@judo judo I get your point, but in this list I wanted to show the ones that use their Ne Waza more often than their Tachi Waza and can wrap you up with multiple different techniques in different situations. I have more grapplers in my list, so maybe later I'll make part 2 with some more grapplers.
As I have said before,Hamada is the best female player She's head and shoulders above any other women on the ground both in quality and quantity Munkhbat has already been defeated by Kondo,Tonaki,Koga and Bilodid Within the past one and a half years On the other hand,Hamada has stayed undefeated on the ground since 2015
Bilodid has the best triangle for sure, but beyond that her arsenal is not very versatile. I think about doing part 2 and Bilodid will probably be in that list.
Dude, chill out, Bilodid has the best triangle for sure, but beyond that her arsenal is not very versatile. Liparteliani is good grappler, but he mostly prefers throws over Ne Waza. These guys in the video can do wide variety of different ground techniques and they use their Ne Waza more than their throws, that is why they are in this list.
Grappler Kingdom have you watched semi-final in 2019 under 48kg what has Bilodid done to your ne-waza quenn Munkhbat? or do you know the nickname Judo specialists and experts gave to Liparteliani because of his ne-waza skills?
First of all, did you read the description? In it I clearly state that this list is based on my personal opinion. Both Bilodid and Lipo are great grapplers, but (in my opinion) their ground game is not as sophisticated as some of the guys in this video. If you can't deal with that you can always make your own list, I'm done with this pointless argument, peace bro.
