This is a full reivew of the Neabot Q11 robot vacuum and mop. Neabot did not send this robot to me, I bought it myself through their crowd fund thing. This doesn't change how I review it one way or the other.

Finally. Been waiting on your review forever on this robot. I was just browsing through RU-vid and instantly clicked on this when I saw the title. One hiccup I have with my Q11 is it doesn't auto-empty most of the time, I have to manually do it in the app. It's updated to the latest firmware and still doesn't auto empty most of the time. It just auto empties whenever it feels like it. "and sometimes it would just sit there and stay in a room with a label called Dormancy"--yup happened to me a few times in this one corner of my home to the point where I just created a "no-go" zone for that corner. "They fixed all of the bugs"--no, they have not. Dormancy is still an issue and the auto-empty issue is not also fixed. Also: 6:07 I think it didn't go through the chair because of the ramp going to your kitchen COMBINED with the objects it saw around it made the robot think it couldn't make it.
@MrRoombato
@MrRoombato 2 года назад
Good catch on the ramp! Most lidar robots wouldn’t even notice it. I didn’t say they fixed app bugs. :). Just navigation and cleaning algorithm bugs. And most, not all. Though you should have seen how many app bugs there used to be. You may want to factory reset yours, or at least kill the map and make a new one. When they updated the firmware, they told me to do that. Do you use rooms or zones to partition your house?
@de_stroyed
@de_stroyed 2 года назад
@@MrRoombato "Do you use rooms or zones to partition your house?" Yes, I do both. Did Neabot say not to partition or zone as it causes bugs? "You may want to factory reset yours," Okay, thanks for the tip, I'll factory reset and hopefully it fixes it. Thanks!
@MrRoombato
@MrRoombato 2 года назад
@@de_stroyed No, they don't say that, but I've had far fewer instances of it not completing the entire cleaning run since I switched to rooms. It could be their updated firmware, or it could be that zones are buggy. I suspect the latter, but only because if you configure a zone to include an inaccessible area, the robot tries for a long time to get there, and then times out. That could be why it skips parts of the job sometimes. The same thing cannot be an issue with rooms since a room is the entire area that it mapped in a given part of the house and nothing beyond it.

I had self-emptying issues right out of the box, return it if still possible. Neabot will leave you with your problems, this is another one-day company from China.

There are a lot of paid videos online, they are misleading. People who leave a review do not lose money on robots, they receive money from the company or from advertising in a video, or from views.
@MrBlueCreeper

I believe the reason why the Q11 decided not to go through that chair in the navigation challenge was that there was a threshold and the LiDAR sensors thought it was an obstacle. Maybe it also got overwhelmed by the many obstacles so it refused to travel through, which could be why it was able to go through without the chair maybe.
@MrRoombato
@MrRoombato 2 года назад
That could be it. I haven't used it in a while, but back when I was using it, it was buggy AF because of that non-spinning lidar.

So far this robot is excellent in my two bedroom apartment with all hard floors. The big issue I have with it is the Iphone app. I'm a blind person and can't read print, IOS has a built in screen reader called Voiceover that makes the touch screen accessible. Actually, Android provides something similar called Talkback. Before I talk about the issues with the app, let me explain briefly how Voiceover works. When Voiceover is enabled, you can touch anywhere on the screen and the phone will speak the item. You can also swipe one finger left and right and this will move through the items on the screen. To activate the item that was last spoken, you double tap anywhere on the screen. There are lots of other gestures but these are enough to get started. Now for the app issues. I'm not sure if the developers of this app used all nonstandard controls, but even from the first screen there are problems. To create the account you have to tap on "register." But Voiceover does not see "Register" as a separate item, it says "Don't have an account yet? Register" as a single item so double tapping it does not work, so I had to get sighted help to create my account. I was able to connect the robot to my network myself but then you really start seeing the accessibility issues with this app. When you swipe on the screen, many items are completely unlabeled. Voiceover will attempt to describe an unlabeled item but this doesn't always work. When updating the firmware, Voiceover saw this whole screen as one item instead of three. The text about what will happen is one item, the cancel option should have been the second item and the confirm option should have been the last item on this screen. I was able to update the firmware myself by turning Voiceover off and tapping on the screen where I thought the confirm option would be, towards the bottom right. Fortunately I tapped in the right place. To change the water level or suction power is completely impossible without sighted help. Voiceover sees the water level and suction options all as a single item and double tapping it doesn't work at all. Fortunately once this is set it remains that way unless it is changed and double tapping the "start cleaning" item does work, which is mostly what I will use. I can also read the battery level. Out of all the robot apps I have tried, this one is by far the worst when it comes to accessibility. I don't have an android device so I can't test the app on that platform. I did email Neabot to mention these issues but so far I have not heard back from them. Of course, I can't divide rooms or do any map changes in any of the apps, since that requires drawing on the screen, there is no real way for a screen reader to read that and I understand that. But I have absolutely no problem changing settings in the Roborock or Irobot apps. The Ecovacs app also has some accessibility issues, I'm going to play with that app more before I will consider adding an Ecovacs bot to my collection. The Mii home app which is used for the Dreametech bots also is very accessible. I've installed the Eufy Home app and that also works very well. Had I known the accessibility issues that the Neabot app has, I probably would not have bought it but moving forward I will absolutely make sure a bot's app is accessible before I consider buying it.

It's hard enough for me, a sighted person, to use some of these apps. I can't even imagine what it's like for you. They really should pay more attention to the apps. That's one of the things that sets companies like Roborock and even iRobot apart...they have excellent apps.

2/13/2022 Last year you would hands down say to purchase the Neabot NoMo N1 robot vacuum, which is no longer sold. They have the N1 plus. Now that you have reviewed the Q11, which would be better from the Neabot line of N1 Plus, N2 or Q11? And of all the robot vacuums you have reviewed or researched, which one would you buy today if you had only tile or vinyl plank flooring? I have no carpeting, just some bathroom mats. I also don't have any pets.
@MrRoombato
@MrRoombato 2 года назад
I would buy the Z10 Pro, no question. It's been working in my house for three months now and it has still never failed a nightly cleaning run. It's not the best in other respects (but it's really good!), but that alone is unique and noteworthy. No other robot I have can make this claim, not even the Roombas, which are the next most reliable. Out of the Neabots, I can't recommend the Q11. Whatever they had to change in the code to replace the lidar dome with a front mounted laser, they screwed it up badly. They may have fixed it since, I don't know, but I haven't used it for a long time and I won't use it. The other Neabots are fine unless you have pets, then the brushes need frequent de-clogging to remove built up fur. The Z10 Pro does not.

Nice video! I remember last you commented about using the q11 as your daily driver. Is that still true, or are you using the dream z10 instead? Also I'm curious if you can swap the main brush between the dream and q11.
@MrRoombato
@MrRoombato 2 года назад
I'm using both the Z10 and the Q11 on alternating nights. I want to make sure the Q11 continues to do its job without hiccups as it's been doing for the last couple of weeks. Once I'm sure, I plan to retire the Q11 or use it somewhere else in the house. Assuming both robots work without a hitch, the only practical difference between them are the hair tangles on the Q11's main brush. The Z10 has a much better self-empty dock, but in practical terms, both work well enough to never need manual intervention. No, you can't swap brushes. But I think those combs below the brushes on the Z10 has a lot to do with avoiding hair tangles also.

Same exact dust bin and mop as my Ihome Nova. These must be designed around universal parts. Also the Pascal numbers they claim means nothing. Edit it has the same exact app as the IHome Auto Vac Nova also

Why does the pascal number mean nothing? The dream z10 also has 4000 Pa, but it sucked better in one pass on the carpet test than t8 and s6, which are around 2500 Pa if i recall correctly.

Hi. I’m curious if you can program this to not return to the base and run the jet engine. I would love to run this at night as you do, but the noise from the base would scare the crap out of me if I were sleeping.
@MrRoombato
@MrRoombato 2 года назад
I actually don't know as I haven't tried this and the robot is mothballed at the moment. I believe, and please let me know if this works, that you can set a do not disturb time after it starts cleaning until you wake up, and it should not empty the dust bin during that time. But as I said, I can't be certain because I've never actually tried it.
