Neal was and still is in a dimension that only he inhabited as an artist and visionary....no one came or comes close to him. whereas most artist have an established vocabulary of poses and ways to do things Neal Adams was beyond all that. He always came up with new ways to express himself. For example Byrne, Buscema and Kirby had their standardized poses.....Neal never did. Always came up with new, fluid ways to draw a scene. A true Master whose legacy will inspire and live on forever. RIP Neal. You achieved far more than most can even imagine.

@@floepiejane Jack Kirby was the humblest guy in the Universe. John Romita Sr and Joe Kubert, fantastic, talented and modest. But no one's allowed to comment on Neal Adam's inflated sense of self? I don't think there's any sanctimony in that, or in saying that modesty is a state of mind not something that you fake. Surprising that you can't understand those relatively simple ideas.

Laughed many times during this interview. Wished I’d of come across this b4 his death. He is so refreshing. I met him about 10 years ago in Red Bank, New Jersey. Very nice guy… enjoyed my time with him very much. Thanks for work Neal. Thanks to CBH for posting.

Neil Adams was at a comic book convention in San Francisco in 1975. Unfortunately I missed him somehow. I always regretted that. This interview kind of helps make up for it - thank you

I love Neal's work ... he's always been my clear favorite. But RIP ... the dude is clearly the opposite of humble. It's off-putting to always be praising himself so much ... and not needed! Everyone LOVES this guy's work, and we praise him often. I just never understood his attitude on this. Oh well. There will never be another one like him. The best.

Jack Kirby was always humble. It befits a true legend better than someone blowing their own trumpet and trying to diminish people like Carmine Infantino. In another video he mocks how another inker, a Japanese, said "bwush". Not just once, he keeps repeating it. I think there was a side of Neal Adams that was not likeable.

This is interesting. John Broome's GL was probably closer to Denny O'Neil's GA. I wonder how much O'Neil's GL was based on having GA and GL being different and how much it was based on O'Neil not getting the character (despite writing it).

Neal Adams has done well for himself and for other cartoonists. A fine bit of comics history. His thoughts of himself as a fighter, as a boxer was pretty funny.. Neal even at his best couldn't be a boxer. Stick to drawing Neal.
