Just found your channel, really good review. I love that near dark is a western horror hybrid. I think Kathryn bigelow is an underrated director. Point break even though it's her most well known is probably my favorite of hers.

Great review!! Yeah . Bill Paxton was so stellar in this. Watched this thing as a kid on cable.. as years went by.. I'd always be like "What was that movie about? We're they running from the law..??" It was always in the back of my head as I'd think of weird flicks. And yeah.. the bar scene is so sick!
Good review. The whole love story angle with the associated bad acting was the one thing I didn't like about this film. Everything else rocks and Bill Paxton is awesome!
Crazy that I haven't watched this yet! 80s & Vampires are my favorite & this came out my birth year! Haha & omg I LOVE "A girl walks home alone at night"... oh & I saw the "Hurt Locker" when it first came out & remember loving it but I need to rewatch. Great review & awesome shirt!

Cool video, nice fangs you look cute with them haha😉 I saw you post on a Chucky video lol so figured I'd check out your vid. You kind of remind me of one of the chicks on Freaky Girls with Victoria Beckon and those guys haha. They're a bunch of cool horror girls on here if you're wondering who I'm talking about. I liked this movie and personally don't have an issue with Katherine's vampire outlook, this movie was made in the 80's and vampires are all about the sexual cat and mouse games anyway lol. I miss the classics when directors and writers didn't make every movie(especially a horror movie haha) so tentatively you know? If you've ever seen movies like I Spit on Your Grave or the Entity, those movies would never be remade today(though they did do a I Spit on your grave remake back in 2009 I think) but now days haha I don't see that working with todays climate...I hope the Exorcist sequels don't pull their punches but probably won't be nearly as hardcore as the original.
Sadly, believe it or not, this is technically not a horror movie. It's more of a suspense Western. It wasn't technically filmed as a horror movie. The box cover gives that away making it appear that way. It's got horror elements in it but it's not really a horror movie. Technically is definitely more of a western with a vampires on top of it
