Neat new tech in Legion of Night

This video was meant to be a short but for complicated reasons it isn't.
This tech is neat for loads of reasons. The VLord can position Morbheg's wherever is best for your other wizards and can use it super offensively. You can pack Burning Head for a cheaper mortal wound bomb, Prismatic Palisade as anti-shooting tech, Shards of Valagharr to slow chunks of the enemy army down and more. With clever positioning you'll be able to pick up Desecrate Their Lands or Cunning Maneuver at the same time.
Without endless spells you can always reposition to for Soulpike or Mystic Shield and in a list with Mannfred you counteract the risk that your general might get sniped and you'll run out of CP. The tech still works even if you don't take MoM or Claw but obviously not as consistently.

Awesome tip! Especially in a lower points game where a vampire on foot is more likely to be the general. I did not want to focus all of my enhancements to get off this one "attack", even though it is incredible. Instead I used the Swift Form teleport with a VLOZD (without Morgbegs claw). He teleported in during his hero phase, cast Gnashing Jaws and breathed, and then made his charge roll. I focused everything onto a unit on the flank and only charged in because I felt I could wipe the unit. I actually failed to quite kill it, but since the VLOZD was wearing the Chiropteran Cloak, when they hit me back, they rolled a couple 1s and finished themselves off. (Can't use Inspiring Presence against VLOZD either due to his Terror ability. So if you do enough damage, they are fleeing anyway.) Then at the start of their turn, I teleported back to one of the skeleton screens that I had brought out on my turn. Even without the charge, the spell + the breath was a great combo. I just whiffed on the Jaws distance roll, so it did not do a ton of damage. You could also use Cado Exechiar to do it since he can give himself +1 to cast without using an artefact to get it.

I think the fact that it works well in lots of different setups is what I like most about the tech. VLord general is great if you're playing Mannfred but a VLoZD works well too. Master of Magic is a good option on a VLoZD general - though not essential. Morbheg's is still kinda useable on the VLoZD because it no longer stops us piling in or fighting but that said, not being able to charge is usually too big a drawback on such a beefy a unit and you can't activate Morghegs while you're within 3". I don't see it as a once off though. You can do this every single turn! If your Gnashing Jaws isn't available you can cast Soulpike or a cheaper endless spell. The only thing that doesn't work here is Cado unfortunately. He can't use Swift Form because he's not able to get the subfaction keyword :(

Wow, I thought about the same trick but with Purple Sun to increase Skeletons or Blood Knights rend in charge. Jaws also looks great in this combo.

Yeah man. Lots of really strong options. I find the biggest thing stopping endless spells being useful is range but being able to drop our wizard 9" away at the start of the hero phase suddenly makes them a lot more viable. The thing I like most about the combo is that it's not JUST doing that combo. +2 to cast in a 12" circle is neat later on too and being able to stick your Vampire Lord where he needs to be to buff other wizards, to cast his own Soulpike or Mystic Shield, to give out +1 atk, or to pick up BTs is all really valuable.

Currently doing something similar, I'm teleporting Mannfred and casting his Winds of Death + an Endless Spell, U have to position Ur Vlord within 30" of Ur opponent (12" from Morbheg's + 18" for Winds) without Master of Magic is less reliable to cast 1 particular spell but U have 2 offensive casts instead.

That makes sense. I really wish we had a double caster that wasn't a named character. Maybe the reason we don't was because the book was written before the Arcane Tome nerf?
