Honestly, for a 20-25-ish dollar figure, I can expect QC issues such as those shown, unlike a 85-100+ dollar SH Monsterarts figure, in which any QC issue should be relatively rare.

Guess NECA wanted to help Michael Dougherty make the 2014 design more like the 1954 design so they gave him 1954/Shin Godzilla derp eyes. U're not helping at all, NECA!

I had a bad feeling about those eyes the moment I noticed NECA was going for more detail in the prototype images. It's a real shame, too. 2019!Godzilla is when of the best designs for the character, period. Not a fan of the rounded tail tip (for that matter, how much shorter the tail is compared to 2014), but I still like it nonetheless.

Lol, I remember everyone was like,”neca is gonna be better!!!” It’s good but I think sh monster arts has won here. This comes with nothing. The sh monster arts has a beam effect with a different jaw. The neca also does not have as much movement as sh monsterarts. I do think it’s unfair tho that neca has some issues with this figure, cause it’s unfair to the people who can’t afford sh monsterarts.Also nice review Steve, awesome reviews! I got the sh monsterarts Godzilla 2019! Can’t wait to get it

It's so strange that this release ended up with derpy eyes. Out of all the Godzilla figures NECA has released, they suddenly decided to drop the ball. I'm praying to God, Rodan doesn't have eyes like this.

They set set the bar incredibly high with the King Goji. That figure was perfect and the quality was consistent. I dont know what happened with this release, but I think NECA is going to have a word or two with the Chinese factories that put these out.

Hi. i just literally received my NECA goji in the mail now and im not disappointed as its my 1st Godzilla iv owned. I must say YES the teeth and overbite is a minor issue for me the eyes have been corrected i noticed so thats ok. the rest of the sculpt isnt bad and love it so far.

Personally, I feel it's alright. You get what you pay for. I've enjoyed getting the limited poses out of him, and you can get some dynamic movements. Concerning the new mold: As an Artist, I'm familiar with designing things and the process of it. This Godzilla is about as new as it can be. It is the same Godzilla as the 2014 one, so how much can you change the design? Everything on him is about as new as they can get it.

Good review, but some people actually had different eye paints. I got mines that much different than yours after Buying it from GameStop. Go look at my review and you can tell how different they are...the only issue I still have are the gums and that's it.

I recently got NECA's Ultimate Jungle Hunter Predator. The eyes are going in different directions. Yet, it's not a problem because the eyes are so small and hard to see in the first place. I think what NECA needs to realize, is making these Godzilla figures, is stepping into a whole new territory.

Mothra will not come with the Larva. NECA said the picture showing the Larva was an unofficial picture.

The eyes on SHMA version is better, because I have it (it's in my channel) and the eyes are fine. Boy, I can see how the figure fight will turn out. Edit: I was right.

I will suggest a remedy. A bandai panel liner might help with the eye problem. Use it to blacken the upper part of the eyes to make it look correct.

When I got mine, I was surprised because mine has no derpy eyes! Well kinda... one eye is looking forward and the other is looking up... But what is surprising, his toe nails aren’t painted and neither are his fingers

THANK YOU! freakin' hell. thank you for pointing out that the sculpt is.. not really new. And you know. NECA does this with Alien, Predator, Terminator... which is fine, they'll do what they want. I was just getting so annoyed that people kept saying it's totally a brand new sculpt! blegh. but OOF Neca.. what's up with that face!? I think I'll be picking up the atomic blast version, and of course Mothra and Rodan. maybe they'll be able to do more Monsters if those get support. Although I don't really like how Mothra looks. especially in toy form. I don't think NECA's looks accurate to the movie. mostly in the face region.

Just got mine at Target, seems they’ve fixed the multiple direction eyes, as both of the ones I saw had it fixed. However even with the eyes fixed they still look kinda, weird, to me, and the lips still bleed over the mouth. Still a pretty good figure tho

My Godzilla’s left eye is over so slightly that you really have to look at it to notice. Other than that my figure looks freaking great. I can’t wait for NECA’s Kong, still wish it was the Monsterverse Kong.

NECA told me parts like the eyes were hand painted. They then told me that there would be paint differentiation... Wait. Doesn't the fact that they are hand painted make their case even worse? It means people hand painted these, looked at them, and decided, eh. Good enough... NECA WTF

The tail has new scaling details where there were originally nothing but slight ridges...the areas that are not obviously different are actually different but most of the standout “marker scales”bare still there Most of the changes are added sculpted texture

The details are only where the new dorsal plates are at and new end to the tail. If you look otherwise, it's nearly a 1:1 and I have a pic up to show that.

I know it has been nearly 4 years since this figure has released, but for Christmas 2022, I SERIOUSLY WANT THIS. I also want the Godzilla 2019 V2 and Thermo. But this is the point of this comment. On some figure reviews like @TheEricButts, his neck can be sometimes stuck. Did you have that problem Steve? If so, what can I do in case that happens?

When I got this thing on Amazon it took almost a month for it to come I know it came from China and when it did come it took a while to get the tail on and the eyes on mine were fine

Fixed the eyes on mine and his pink gums were splattered on the snout too also fixed that with some multi-surface paint! I mixed brown with black and got that dark color thats all over his body too.And damnit man mine was pretty stiff except for his legs they moved fine but his wrist joints didnt wanna move like at all I mean they did but they were stiff. And ah one of the many benefits of hairdryers as well! ;) Also for someone who hates this figure u did buy it for some reason?. :/

I didn’t really like this figure, number one of course, the head, and number two, the articulation on the legs are very limited, number three, his dorsal plates are too big, number four, the posture of the figure is always slouched

Lots of people have had issues with this figure. The eyes on mine are actually good, though there's too much white, he looks wired. Mine has a spot on his head where it looks like they forgot to add the charcoal wash so he has a darker spot on right side of his face. I've seen others where the figure was a bit warped in certain areas, overly stiff or loose joints, etc. This one also leans more forward whereas the 2014 stood more upright. This figure is average at best. Your review is spot on. After their great 62, this is a disappointment. I hope their Rodan is better.

I think it's an okay figure, I got lucky with mine as both eyes are right in the center. Although mine also has an extra paint smear on the left side of the face.

I got my godzilla yesterday, for starters there's the eye issue (I stg) the teeth is okay on my figure its not too crazy. His entire right side like his arms and legs are pretty good at posing, but his left side is a different story. The one main problem that's been bugging me is that his left leg ball joint is..off? If thats the word, whenever I try to stand him up properly, his left leg leaves this big gap between the thigh and the rest of the body, the ball joint for this leg is over the top stiff as hell.

I was fortunate enough to get eyes that were even. One eye is crackhead looking but at least both of his eyes are straight and one isn't looking down while the other eyes is looking forward

I guess later batches of this will have better paint apps for the eyes and mouth but still might get this since I never got the 2014 one(I could, it's available in my area) with the regular NECA Shin Godzilla to go with my '94 Godzilla.

Often times there can be paint which "glues" up the joints preventing them from moving, or the plastic may be too rigid in place and in either scenario forcing it *without* knowledge and skill may cause a break.
