My attempt to make it from State highway 7 down the highway 94 and walk up to Wendi's bar. Unfortunately did not make it still had a great time in the river bottom.
"Ain't no Showboat, Show ya how to get it done Boat!" We always say, "It ain't if, it's when!" Really like your videos. Own a 1988 Lowe 1542 RiverJon with a Johnson 40hp, that my brother in law and I built new, and it still gets ran on the Rio Grande.
Explorin them bottoms is perfectly fine....dependin if they're into you too or not....but God-forbid if the question pops up whether you were ever there or not.....lol!....that can mess with/rattle a man's self-esteem just a little bit, no? lmao!😆🤣😉 Real Talk though...man, you got straight up skillz my boi...makin it look easy....Captain of the low seas and of the Century!👍
It’s legal to navigate navigable waters. You can’t touch the bed of explored waters for longer than necessary. (Camping, noodleing, etc.) basically if you fall out you can use the ground for as long as it takes to hop back in and you are still not considered by the state of Texas as trespassing. Still temperamental land owners usually see it different and law or not you might get shot. Totally awesome what you are doing! Absolutely love it! Stay safe keep it up!
Wendy's bar has some of the best food. And it's the old river that runs through pine Island hunting club. It comes out at the spillway. Good video along better running going up from 7 to 294
I did eventually make down to there but never wemt to the bar. Had my daughter's with when I was there. Look like a place for daddy not the kids. Haha.
They got a big back porch you and the kids can set on a watch the gators and order and eat your food there. Very respectful if you got your kids there.
In Texas a stream is navigable if it is either “navigable in fact” or “navigable by statute.” These tests are explained below. Simply put, a non navigable stream is a stream which is neither navigable in fact nor navigable by statute. Along a navigable stream, the public may boat, fish, swim, camp, and in general carry on any legal activity. Public use must be confined to the stream bed and, to a limited extent, the banks. Along a non navigable stream, the public generally has no right of use, and a private landowner may forbid public entry upon or along the waterway. However, there are some instances in which a perennial stream, even though it is not navigable in fact or navigable by statute, is nevertheless open to public use because the land bordering it was granted (prior to December 14, 1837) under the civil law, which reserved ownership of beds of perennial streams.
There are times you need a mudmotor- Everyone has their opinions, but a Pro Drive 40 would be your best choice. Boyz I know on Caddo Lake hunt and fish with mudmotors to get in the back woods.
Been to caddo many times I usually ride up to Jefferson amd grab lunch in town. Mud motor definitely would had no problem with that drift that clogged my thermostat.
@@alelombardi5922 this is where having motor mounted the correct height (as high as possible) allowes the intake to just ricochet over whatever you're hitting. Also being trimmed out as much as you can lessings that attack angle to reduce the impact.
Tnx..I asked you because i had an e tec 30 jet with manual trim and if i hit a rock the outboard "gets up" because of the "unlocked trim"..thinking to the merc my worries are to damage something hitting because the trim Is bolted and "locked"..if i explenaid good
Well state law says if it is navigable waterway no one can stop you from traveling it but I'm like you if my boat can go there I go I don't try and tear nobody stuff up hell most of the time I leave in better shape than what I find it
Mini air boat be a blast. I do feel at the end of the day for RIVER fishing and exploration the jet be more productive, safer and have reverse. Really all depends where you are from. Im all over, but say I was in western Oklahoma with no trees to go under litte air boat be awesome.
My problem is my “mini” is only gonna be a 22hp with 38” fan. I’m in Texas but up in Oklahoma sandy rivers all the time. Wanting something I can use both, maybe I make it interchangeable, nothing big just a 1236
Man, i got to see what's really going on out there. I kinda wish my bass boat was aluminum, because with fiber glass, we would probably sink. We are heading out there to pull on shore to hunt, bag game and head back, assuming we don't drown,. We have and aluminum Jon Boat, i think we should take it, and leave the bass boat home.
@@DennisBohannan I gotcha- A couple questions more if you don’t mind- 1) Do you see the 1652 hull as good choice for maneuvering in shallow running rivers compared to a 1648? I do understand the rivers you run as NW Louisiana isn’t that far away from you in Texas, and my intention is to hunt waterfowl in Western rivers, so gathering facts from individuals like yourself helps with my decision. Am happy you are open to questions on your RU-vid Channel. 🙏 .100 gauge over .125? Mod V with tunnel hull? Had better luck with Mercury jet outboards? Appreciate every answer given. Thanks in advance.
@@bobbycrenshaw5167 if your going woth this horsepower range absolutely mercury. They offer short shaft and large pump. No other manufacturers off that in the 60/40 class. The 1652 seems to be go to size with this power as well. Drafts, planes, runs out great. I don't see a need for a tunnel especially on boats this size. They rob a bunch of power and speed. With motor set properly and use of trim of your hitting it is simply not enough water.
@@bobbycrenshaw5167 my hull is .100 thicker is always better but thicker weighs more. Keeping the boat light is key for success on the water. I have a video of the battery I run only 2 pounds. I like the flat bottom but dont reallybhave experience with anything else. Will have more slide, but once mastered sliding can be used to go even shallower.
A freind of mine was running wide open (like you), with a 40 horse. He hit a submerged log, like that river has and he flew to the front of his aluminum boat, smashed his face, lost one of his eyes, Randy Emmons, Pascagoula, Mississippi, Life flighted from the river, nearly didnt survive. And as you were racing around the bends of that off shoot, could you imagine comming across some folks canoeing, running them over? And then finally, all this hot dogging and log jumping dont want a life vest on ? Thats all my criticism, enjoyed seeing what the upper neches looks like. Ive been on the neches near Kirby.
All true, and I'm not above it happening to me. The log jumping is all anticipated so would not be caught off guard. With way boat us set up and using the trim almost impossible to snag a log amd bring you to a halt. As ar as flying thru the woods and hitting a canoe. I can see.uch better than what appearson the screen amd if you watchy speed in the tight spots I am not going very fast. I quick reverse trust havee stopped in a few feet. I see your concern amd it is noted. Everything is a calculated wrisk.
