I am a Norfolk State Spartan... I have to give BCU all the props for their "NECK" itz the best period out of any School... Str8 up hands down... the Instrumentals and the Voices are Sick... They rock it both ways very well... all love to HBCU....
as a pride allumni... I gotta say that this is the best..not only version of "Neck" but this my favorite BCU band playing it.. They rocked it!! Tune, precision, etc everything is on point
@bignine100 Two totally different bands. BCU is on the extreme level of clean and balance but arrangements are basic. JSU would bring a deep book, diverse songs and arrangements. Both bands can blow when they want to. Both have outstanding drum majors and dance squads. It would be a great battle but there are no losers in a match up like this.
@gregthemurloc60 I feel ya on what your saying but I am not sure which conference you are use to seeing but in the MEAC, bands get penalized a lot or stopped from playing during the game while the ball is in play. This singing part kind of allows them to get way with still performing while they are waiting on the dead ball to crank up again.
@gregthemurloc60 Really? Interesting, to each his own I guess. But as far as the vocal part, well it is the MEAC, they do have a rep for singing when they have large numbers like BCU, FAMU and SCSU
@gregthemurloc60 i can feel what your saying because this is probably different to you. Kinda like that was raised in the SWAC listening to FAMU's big ballin.
@Gentleman1911 Guess i'm just different, but if you have that many players you should be playing i mean imagine how amazing this would sound with them playing at least a majority of the song with the whole band you could have some amazing grooves... instead all you get is the same riff over and over with alot of dancing.
@gregthemurloc60 Its a football game.....the band is at the same level as the football field. Any type of playing when your not suppose to can EASILY distract the football team and cause a penalty.
@jboggy27 Vocals sure, but if we wanted to hear someone sing a song we'd go to choir practice. Taking out they best part of a song to replace it with vocals just don't seem right to me :/
if it aint broke dont try 2 fix it - all that extra nonsence they added in the middle is messing up the song. their old way was the best version of any band any where, now i need to pick another schools version
