This is a video I recorded of Neck Deep when they visited a little store called Fingerprints in Long Beach, California for a acoustic show and signing before their show at Chain Reaction on March 9, 2014.
Eric Wess If you play Blink 182 songs slow and acoustically there is a serious sadness behind them. There is also a cover of "Emo" on YT that is the same. Awesome.
+Jack Donnelly that sounds like someone having an emotional breakdown. Like when you're really depressed and try to laugh to hide it. Like when you're hysterical and you start laughing at a wrong moment because you know you're fucked
That girl singing in the background stole the show from Ben. The brokenness that was present in her voice, I felt every emotion in this song through her voice.
Alright so I'm basing this off both here and his cover that he put up a while ago on youtube, but I think he tunes the B string up a half step (you can kinda hear it being played here open as well as in his cover video along with the E string) and then uses his middle finger to do some mumbo jumbo with the b and g strings but yeah it sounds alright to me when I play along with the video. oh by the way the chords are c, g, a, and f power chords and he just has two of his fingers playing those power chords
It's alright to tell me what you think about me I won't try to argue or hold it against you I know that you're leaving, you must have your reasons The season is calling, your pictures are falling down The steps that I retrace, the sad look on your face The timing and structure did you hear he fucked her? A day late a buck short I'm writing the report On losing and failing when I move I'm flailing now And it's happened once again I'll turn to a friend Someone that understands Sees through the master plan But everybody's gone And I've been here for too long To face this on my own, well I guess this is growing up Well I guess this is growing up And maybe I'll see you at a movie sneak preview You'll show up and walk by on the arm of that guy And I'll smile and you'll wave, we'll pretend it's okay The charade, it won't last, when he's gone I won't come back And it'll happen once again You'll turn to a friend Someone that understands And sees through the master plan But everybody's gone And you've been there for too long To face this on your own, well I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up

nhat tran Yup he is playing power chords the entire time (i'm not sure if they are barred, it sounds like they are) and it sounds like standard tuning to me, EADGBE
ok everybody already commented on the girl singing along and how it adds to the song but... wtf is up with that guitar headstock on an acoustic guitar? Wtf
