A quick video of the neck radius jig i built for my bench sander.
Ideally i would have a longer sander to do the whole fretboard in one go, however this makes do with my current sander, takes up less space in the workshop,

Do you slot your frets before or after you use this?

Ben, you are genius. it is impossible where I live to find a sander that is longer. With this method, the sliding bars can be used by any sander. Thank you

Thanks. This is great! What did you use for the stand you mounted the swing on and was it supported on the floor, or did you mount it to the sander stand?

I used 25x25mm square steel, mounted to the benchtop

How versatile is this set up? As in, is it adjustable for multiple radii? Or could it be without a huge amount of extra work? I'm picturing possibilities in my head but I'm not great at visualizing things without hand-on measuring and tinkering

I have only really used it for the 2 radius that it's setup for. Perhaps another way of building it would be to have the hooks where the bar sits adjustable up and down. Originally I had thought to have some threaded rods on the ply panels and running through the steel frame.

Hi Ben, great concept. I was trying to figure out how to get use out of my existing belt sanders to do this. How do you like it thus far?

Hi Chin, it works great, much faster than using a sanding block as I was previously. I may however put in some form of lug over the rod as you need to make sure it doesn't tip as you slide it along.

@@ben2travel2 I have a router based jig that is very accurate for only a 16” radius because I need to make new radii bases for it for each option. Not so fun. So this seems more promising and sanding is safer for chip out :). My new project starts!
