Honestly, Sam made Firefly a wayyy cooler character. Looking back seeing her trying to get close to you, trying to drag you away from the Family and the Hounds specifically, how she confronted Sampo. And then giving up and confronting Acheron. Legit feels like you're supposed to re-watch the entire story. She's a soldier on a mission and trying to be discreet.
True. I loved Firefly already but after finding out she was Sam made me fall harder for her. Like the gap moe from cute cinnamon roll to cold blooded cool cyborg is insane.
Knowing everything we know, that scene where the death meme grabs Firefly is very interesting. There's zero fear in Firefly and you can see her seemingly about to pull something as she clenches her fist, but decides against it before Black Swan saves us.
For me is the opposite. I wanted Sam to be a badass character, but Firefly made him the worst character ever for me. I don't want it to be an anime child character... So the story not only ruined Sam for me, but also I can't feel the sadness about Firefly I felt in the story when "Sam = Firefly" wasn't confirmed, I just feel like she should die 4th time in the lore, this time for sure, and then I'll be happy
it’s not about connecting to firefly, I think she’s trying to get close to us bc she already knew us but we don’t. She’s a part of the Stellaron Hunters and Firefly is doing it because of the script.
Her emotions towards you were way too genuine to just be a part of the script. It’s crystal clear in the story that Firefly is very emotionally attached to the Trailblazer. Yes, she’s there as part of the script, but that doesn’t take away from emotion. It’s obvious that even Kafka cares about you to some extent but can’t tell you everything because of the script. Saving the universe and being forced to keep secrets from a friend for a few years, or spilling everything and jeopardize the universe?
Nah, Firefly is definitely attached to the trailblazer in a way that goes beyond simply helping a key part of the script. She (as Sam) stated that she attempted to work beyond or to go against the script 11 separate times and every one of those attempts failed in the end which just led her back to having to fulfill what she was "supposed" to do inevitably in the end. It's very possible that she was trying to completely bring us away from the conflict with the family and potentially redirect the fate of Penacony but it just kept failing and someone or something kept dragging us back into the plot every time.
Or at least that is what some of the Sam mains are copeing for. To be fair, there are no real hints against that idea. But i dont believe they will do what with Firefly. Funny enough with having a disease that is slowly killing her, she has more in common with Tony Stark that the Average Kamen Rider. Its still open in the air, we need to wait for the next version before we can be sure. (But i honestly don't believe that the "tony stark with jarvis" relationship is the case here. If everything we know of is true and Firefly is really Glamoth than: From the Background information about Glamoth we know that there was a this Empress, called "Titania" that telepathically commanded the Knights connected to her and that these Knights are more akin to some kind of "Super Soldiers".)
I'm hoping her ult is a transformation where you can actually play as Sam for a considerable period with new abilities. Kinda like Jingliu's enhanced state, but way more advanced
@@The_CodFish69 You're correct it is Swarm Annihilation Machine, SAM is a mecha armor from Glamoth and Firefly is an augmented soldier genetically enhanced to pilot a molten knight, or in this case SAM.
@@nr.1yelansimp201 that’s what I thought for the in game context at least. I know the OG idea is from a book and that’s where they got the name for Sam and Firefly from.
Ideal world would be Firefly on the map, Sam in the fight. Showing Firefly walking around and using her model for interacting with things and then instantly transforming into Sam when combat begins. The ultimate and skills can have references to both of them.
i dont think its weird some people didnt connect with Firefly in the short time, its us lonely people who have no real connections so we attach much quicker to a game character than we should lmao.
I’m the lonely people too but I did not connect with FF or Sam maybe Bsc I did not grow up with robot or mech… anime hahaha I weirdly grow up with Angel beats kinda anime so her “Spoiler: death made me sad but also moved forward then no one seem to die too then it becomes meh” 😂😂😂 I’m so excited about JADE 👀
Yeah outside should be firefly running then I think she will definitely transform in battle via accumulating some special stacks like acheron or charge up pts like Jing Liu and then her enhanced state is SAM... Then you'll probably get to play X turns as SAM until you transform back...
I kinda like the idea of her gameplay being a mech that slowly disintegrates your allies and enemys health whenever she is in her mech form and the idea that it must have a seperate bar of health lime how shields work which once destroyed will bring her back into the fight as fiefly
To be fair, the feeling that Hoyo was forcing us to feel for Firefly maybe intentional, like Sam's way of reaching or luring mc. As they said in that scene it's the only way she knows.
4:52 "I didn't feel much towards Firefly" I mean, yeah, obviously. I've followed your content for years, started for League, and you are unable to emotionally connect or resonate with the media presented. WHICH IS COMPLETELY FINE. Not everyone has to be deeply connected to the media they consume, but yeah I hope you don't get hate for it. I mean, I may be a wanker and sometimes comment/criticize your behavior (just a random comment that means nothing really), but sometimes players feel offended for some reason when you're detached to the things they enjoy. I'm not suggesting you change your behavior or anything, but kinda maybe, idk, maybe do lore videos instead? The aeons lore, the characters lore, the trailblazer story, etc., that's where your strengths lie. Reacting to the content... is not your forte. Maybe even theorycrafting about what cool things HSR could do, etc. That'd be interesting content that has very few people on it. idk, just throwing words at the wind.
idk how u guy think it will be like clara when svarog and clara are different person firefly and sam are the same person it not that hard to understand
true, if they really wanted us to get attached to Firefly before the reveal, we (I) needed more time with her. I was completely suspicious up until the picture and her death lol
It makes more sense if firefly's kit involves transformation. Firefly's ult turns her into sam with new abilities and a burst ult that turns her back to firefly.
Imagine if we can get 2-1 character where she can fight in human form , or there's a transform button where she can change into mecha form before starting the fight. Obviously the human form much weaker than mecha form . But it's so much cooler to get options to change or not
Nah, Jade WISHES she was Qingque. Nobody can replace stupid gambler brat, not to mention Jade has like no characterization yet so I can't actually care regardless since Star rail almost always releases characters too soon 😒
same feelings about Firefly the tactic is way too obvious that they're trying to make you like a specific character in such a short amount of time I just can't invested in this kind of tactic.... maybe if the development for her was more spread out, just maybe
It's not different from the SAM we fight. It's just she's now going all out. The faceplate is open and the wing system gets released. Sorry for my bad English
I agree with Necrit. I am ok with firefly, and she is a decent character. I got my hope so high about the mecha suit because hoyo has been teasing Sam since Kafak's trailer. I just can't accept the idea of Sam and firefly being as one unit. I only want Sam.😭😭😭😭
I actually wanted Sam and Firefly to be entirely separate characters because in gameplay I wanted to have both of them with their own unique animations, but now they're tied together and, while not the worst thing ever, I'm left disappointed 😑
@@sneakretster…. You do recognise that they would still have unique animations as the same character… judging a character’s animations before they are even released is weird… because there are no grounds, that’s not how judgements work, just preconceived biases
@@thederp9309 it's not weird at all? Characters have a limited pool of animations because of the nature of the game; their entire animation set includes 2 idle animations, 1 talent animation, 1 basic attack, 1 skill, 1 ultimate, and only one additional animation for characters with Follow-up attacks. At most you're seeing 6 or 7 animations per character as you use them in regular gameplay and the only exception I can think of is probably Imbibitor lunae, though the differences in his skill levels aren't huge. Firefly and Sam now have to be crunched into one moveset, which inherently limits the amount of animations that they'll have immediately, and even if she has two modes where she is both in and out of the armor in battle that's only going to add 1 or 2 new animations specifically for battle and you don't get sam outside of battle at all or it would have to be split between them somehow. Basically, I have every right to be disappointed because I won't get to see both of them fully fleshed out as their own characters since it means they're both getting the short end of the stick when compared to every other character in the game. Sam is forever a destructive mech as his boss form and I can't play that version of him, and I won't get Firefly as her own character like I wanted from the moment I saw her 😔
Your not actually in the minority, a lot of people even wish to seperate Sam from Firefly, I will get Firefly just because of Sam, but in Her rerun prob
The thing is, a random girl is more relatable & more enjoyable character than fancy NPCs. She just happen to exist & not turn HSR into a game but more like a beautiful artistic novel.
@@earthliving6558 That person's dad works for nintendo, trust them. In real note, the armor is called SAM, an abbreviation for something like Soldier Armored Mecha division or etc. Its in her bio that her armor is a called a SAM but she calls is mecha. She is a genetically engineered super solider mind controlled by her queen to fight the swarm and her and the rest of the Metal Calvary held the swarm at bay until something shifted, the queen died, her world was destroyed, and now Firefly is one of the last of her kind suffering with a fatal condition that only living in her armor or a temporal equivalent to an "iron lung" stops her from dying.
@@autumnwind8509 Sam is how it is because it's Firefly. If I'm sad, it may be because I feel sorry for these who can't understand they make each other a better character.
... Which is valid. You can enjoy the ideas of the super hero while disliking the social aspects of his non-hero persona. You yourself make the distinction of Spider-Man from Peter, despite them being the same person precisely because of that reason, they are different aspects of a character. As Necrit said, I felt like Firefly was REALLY pushed unto us and I really don't like that lazy method. I've wanted to pull for Sam since the first time I saw him simply because it's a cool mecha. I want the mecha, not the girl.
@@hazamax2139 Well people that was a fan of firefly and had Sam pushed on them ain't in the minority either. Either accept they one in the same or skip. there plenty of new 5*s to suit your interest
@@MegaDuke4life No shit Sherlock, who would have guessed the reverse was also a thing? True, true. There are plenty new 5* mecha coming like... Boothill because you equate cyborg enhancements with mecha? Rough but I guess the reverse side also has it rough wanting yet another cute girl. If only there was an upcoming idol or, I dunno, a CEO vibes boss girl. Waifus are a really hard thing to find in star rail after all, you know? Like bro, if you like her I'm glad for you. I'm just saying it feels like wasted potential to have Sam be just another human. Almost like if there was another character who was for some reason a human child yet all her skills involved a robot doing everything.
