Indeed. The longer they are exposed to it, the more it influencing them. They are getting wants, needs, and desires. Even vel'koz, agent of the watchers has developed a fixation about the world and seeks out information to learn. And disintegrates things.
@@Danchamp07 “Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” It's a quote of Nietzsche
The idea that each void creature have different appearances due to their regional “diet” is cool to me, as well as the fact that that would explain why Vel’koz looks like the other watchers: rather than consume he disintegrates material for knowledge.
The ocean and water theme was such a good idea as well. Especially in the depths of the ocean there are some absolutely terrifying creatures that would work so well with the horror theme of the void.
but we all know Bel'Veth would stand no chance against a fully committed Zoe... but we ALSO all know that Zoe tends to be pretty flighty and whimsical. Who knows how hard she'd try.
In that case, Nami should play a role in the Void event. The Marai tribe have been fighting their own war against an aquatic strain of the Void, similar to Bel'Veth's armies.
It’s funny cuz they had 1 of them corrupted and then it was kinda retconned that void can corrupt (same with kaisa). Now with her it kinda makes sense to have that Nami story being brought in again.
@@sirnonsense5033 On that topic, it's a shame that Riot already included Diana in the Ruination event because she actually has more use for the Void event. The Marai have been fighting back the Void largely thanks to their possession of moonstones, gifted to them by one of the previous Targonian aspects of the Moon. Part of Nami's lore involves tracking down Diana for her to craft more moonstones for the Marai to keep pushing back the Void.
@@anthonymorales9869 not just Diana xd Rengar as well would have fitted here if we involve kazix. It’s funny how they fuked themself over. A part of me tho fears the skins for this event. Idk but I just found the sentinel skins to look bad and alien. May rito Convince me otherwise tho.
@@sirnonsense5033 If the event becomes another globe-trotting adventure like Sentinels of Lights and they happen to end up in the Freljord (which they definitely should), they could justify Ornn's inclusion in the Pre-season cinematic by having him craft armor and weapons for the various champions.
4:10 WAIT. HOLD UP What if that face is the true face of the forgotten ascended??? The one monolith where the architects were trying to restore it but the Void came and slained all of them??? For those who don't remember it, the monument Taliyah throws at Rek'Sai in The Call cinematic
I really hope she sets the path to the reworks of Cho'gath and Kogmaw. These two could have such a massive part on the story and the eent due to how versitile they currently are. Cho'gath is literally the prime objective of the Watchers made manifest and the biggest example (literally). Consume and destroy, which is something Bel'Veth is actively opposing by assimilating instead. So would not be a bad idea to have these two clash, this way they could re-imagine Cho, who so far, gives off major Watcher vibes and it would not be too far of a stretch to make him one (small one in comparisson). As for Kog, we know that he is following the trail of Malzahar... for some reason. Also, it is fair to nore that his overall shape is quite similar to those fish. Besides them, the oldest and most powerful Void spawn that we know of (excluding Bel'Veth), Vel'koz is very smart in comparisson to the rest (as shown in one of the stories) which makes him both a bigger target, as he is the one made in the image of the Watchers, as well as capable of betrayal.
Well let’s hope they get more screen time then stuff like karthus ect in ruined king. Well at least we know there will be reksai stuff and Mayby a little bit velcoz
ngl i love this bait and switch making us think its just another sexy lady then BAM monster, tbh she kinda seems like a angler fish?, you know pretty little ligh (woman form) to lure in prey then big beasty form. I LOVE THIS CONCEPT.
looking at the video she fights and can use her abilities in her "mommy" appearance so most likely her true form will be reserved for ultimate, passive, taunts and recall or even less
@@silveriusstorm6318 I read that it's her Ultimate. She transforms into her real form and gains stats and empowers her abilities like the other transformation champs while in battle.
@@dearthofdoohickeys4703 lol xD Her face and human apperance is supposed to be sexy xD It's a void monster that tries to seduce people before killing them. Either you are just blind or just bad faith. It's not a complaint from me btw. I don't dislike sexy champions at all ;)
I swear to god, I was thinking “Man, the lip sync is a bit off with this new champ. Must be a dub or something.” But the reveal that it was literally just a disguise for her true form just made it all click into place perfectly.
I hate how this stupid ass arguement became so common... The idea that they should defult to ugly unless there's a specific reason is the most 2022 thing possible. No, defulting to nice to look at unless there's a specific reason is normal.
@@bencegergohocz5988 yes but looking too nice sacrifices the personality and the story of the character like kaisa, it doesn’t make sense why she looks so good considering her story, but she does
So I wonder what they are going to do with Kassadin for this event. Since he hates anyone standing in his way to his daughter and the void itself. I mean it would be cool if they further his story to finally finding her. Or will he find her corrupted??
@@yassermontasser7196 I really hope so, he has so much potential towards the story progressing. If they do him dirty like yorick that is just gonna be a total let down in story telling
I think the semi-human form is for us but not in the way you expect. It is an intentional usage of the uncanny valley. Having the recognizable human shape but distorted adds to the monstrousness.
yeah instead of the upfront monstrous design of void creatures, Belveth tries to imitate human, even with the lip movement and fake swaying from walking (when in fact she is already floating)
I guess it makes sense that this isn’t a “void event” as in “fight the watchers” event. They are, like, the last bosses of Runeterra. But maybe saying “fight the watchers” isn’t right since almost no one can stand up to them. So I guess saying fighting all the forces of the void would be more accurate.
You can see the water' surface at the begining of the video (when she follows the boat) . They are underwater and probably in the city devoured by her, which might be Bel'veth.
okay, ... random thought I had... could Bel'Veth come from the void rift that's in Namis thing? ..like in the comic? Cause that should be in the ocean.
OOO i was wondering about that. but I believe namis tribe is near mount targon. and bel veth is on the other side it looks like. but I could be wrong..let me know
God I love how uncanny she looks, it truly looks something like trying to look human but couldn't get the key features right due to disjointed information.
I feel like in-game she'll most likely look how she does at the beginning of the cinematic with certain abilities opening up her "poncho". Possibly an ultimate where she goes full void stingray for the duration? This design is really a genius move by Riot. They're appealing to the people who only like sexy anime champs AND the people who want more unique character designs while making it work in practicality with the face acting like an anglerfish's lure. Superb job
9:50 - What I love about that head is that it makes sense with her marine alien theme-it reminds me of an angler fish, in the way that it's 'bait' to make you think "Oh, she's a pretty woman" but then BAM, that 'face' is just some appendage that sprouts from her forehead.
The scene where she stands in that portal and the light is behind her forming this human silhouette reminded me so much of Beyond the Aquila Rift (ATTENTION! Not for kids under the age of 16) i would highly recommend to watch this @Necrit if you haven’t already. Even the story is more sad and there is much empathy from the alien creature but it’s even more grotesque and and the idea is very similar
My theory is in the end Rek'sai's army and Bel'veth's army is gonna clash with each other and when they are fighting champs who are chosen for this event will find a away to close the void or we can guess they will end itself because of the fight
the whole sexy champion thing is so fucking weird. theres plenty of monster champions in the game. i feel like people that complain about too many sexy champions are just people projecting their own insecurities. i dont care what a champ looks like as long as theyer cool. with that being said i think her design is a solid 10/10
The complaint comes from the design not matching their story. Why this sexy/monster champ works (for now) is because she is luring people in to assimilate them once they get close. It only makes sense that the biggest contradiction was also in the video, Kai'sa. Kai'sa has supposedly fought her entire life in the void with nothing besides a void creature attached to her and she looks like she came out of a photo booth.
@@spub1031 heres the thing i dont actually think anyone gives a fuck about what kai'sa looks like. shes cool. does it make sense that shes somehow really hot even though she grew up in the void? no. do i care? no. theres a talking cat riding a sentient book, a robot that runs a dating website, an entire kingdom that uses magic to suppress magic because magic is illegal except when its convenient to use against other magic. a lot of things dont make sense but i dont care enough to ask questions. i just think its neat.
@@wowitsfrostygames155 and you can have that opinion like how I can have the opinion that I would like designs that makes sense. I'm not projecting my insecurities like you said, I love characters like Evelynn and Braum but they also make sense for looking the way they do but my favorite designs are Aurelion Sol, Ivern, and orrn and they also match what they were going for
@@wowitsfrostygames155 I don't think you understand what people are complaining about. To make the issue clearer, imagine yummi but riot added one giant pair of human tits on the cat. Would you not think that to be disgusting? That is the issue here, riot adding uncessary sexiness to champs where it does not make sense or when it comes at the cost of the champions lore and theme. They do it so the champ (mostly its current or future skins) will sell better and people find that disgusting. We want future champs to be truly diverse and iconic, with their themes and potential realized to the maximum. Otherwise we would get: Top naked man with weapon - sexy woman with powers - sexy man with powers - half naked woman with a backstory that excuse the appearance - a literal chark with thighs and tits (monster design quota) - sexy ect.
Yeah I feel like Vel'Koz may also end up being sort of against the Watchers, for his innate desire is to gain knowledge and keep doing so. And the watchers eventually deciding to end the universe.. It sort of goes against his desire of gaining knowledge. Yes, he accumulates knowledge FOR the watchers, but would he really willingly cease existing? I feel like this may end up being a sorta theme with the very intelligent void spawn, who knows.
@@chazfromouterspace no, you don't get it. If you die to a void attack you don't go through the proper proces of death you would get if you died to a sword. The whole point of the void invasion is to stop things in "existance" from thinking loudly, that obviously includes places like tge death realm aswell so anyone that does to the void will get completly removed from existance or incorporqted into a void creatur.
Tbh, I originally was okay with her being just a corrupted pretty human because I genuinely believed that she was going to be really good. This twist makes me like her even more. What a surprise!
I doubt they are going to have too big of an event since the ruination wasnt that long ago, but they could use this to bring back and update the other void champs and maybe drop some more lore Cinematics to make up for the lack of champions, its always lovely to see them since they are so well made afterall
I believe that in-game they will mostly show her "sexy" form and for abilities she briefly changes to her true form. Or it's similar to Kayn who at some point permanently changes his appearance, so that after playing for a while and achievimg some goal Bel'Veth changes permanently to her true form. Anyways I hope that this "sexy" form of her is considered more to be a like "dominant" form in-game. they just feel so "looking down on us"-ish, if you know what I mean
You're in her domain, in her turf, and you think using her weapons is gonna do something? You merely adopted the void. Veth is the void. Also love seeing kaisa getting slapped around. Love the monstrous concept, and still not the monster Riot promised? We get more?! Maybe a whole line of monsters to counter the E-girl/E-boy era.
I think it would be interesting if the long version of this trailer is Kass coming, saving Kai, and them being reunited (similar to the Lucian saving Senna as the video kept extending)
Kassadin is not yet revealed and he's not showed to be corrupted or working for any sort of void faction. I imagine Kassadin will be the spearhead to the fight against Bel'Veth
Could the Void things underwater in Nami's Lore be connected to Bel'veth? Since Bel'veth is consuming most things in the sea... Maybe other void creatures, like Vel'koz, Cho'gath, Kha'zix etc are all in the land and Bel'veth is the one consuming from the seas first.
here is what I theorize there will be another Cinematic where Rek'sai coming, rushing into them and that will be the time where Kai'sa get away from Bel'veth Rek'sai will notice those eggs then stare at Bel'veth, roars then attacks while Bel'veth starts to mock our Queen or something like that, I'm pretty sure it will happen
you should get an extension that blocks out thumbnails for youtube videos i their titles have certain words, I used that for elden ring and its served me super well
Why do I feel like league has a lot of champions who have a fake facade to lure in potential victims? I know Evelynn does, Elise, even Zyra maybe (I’m not sure about her). I don’t know how many champions use this but I’m under the impression that it’s become a bit of an excuse for making monster champions human-like.
They also made Thresh fall into this category with his lore skin. I love the concept of monster in disguise/ wolf in sheeps pelt kinda thing but I really hope they stop for a while with designs like this. Otherwise it will become stale very quickly and just another blatant excuse to make evrey champion hot and or human.
