Used to listen to necro in the early days of I need drugs and gory days. Just started down a nostalgia trip and even though I’m old and the gory shit isn’t really my thing anymore, I can still listen to necro. I still like a lot of his references and he’s undoubtedly a master wordsmith and technical rapper. He also has a great sense for what makes a sick beat. His shit is super creative and you can tell he’s an intelligent human being. I’m watching his interviews now and he just has a head on his shoulders and seems to know who he is and what he’s doing.

@@RitualFlip wow yeah that's when I knew him, he lived in Lincoln Park duplexes for a little while in like the summer of 2000, which was mostly white at the time. The area was like a 4 street mix of lower class white suburban teenagers and 18-21 year olds with their own apartments there which westside gun/Alvin had. Necro used to front boxes of his tapes and CDs to people, I need drugs was everywhere. But the black and puertorican kids that had moved from the east side and west side fucked with him as a producer while we liked the beats and lyrics lol Edit. Do you know where he talked about this? I always wonder if hes spoke on when he stayed there.

@@mikeb5067 he mentioned it in an interview where he talked about his first project, and how he threw the wedge of money like a baseball at the engineers face when he left, the engineer didn’t take him seriously or something, was a good interview, I’ll see if I can find it, he gets praised for a lot of stuff underground dudes were doing 97 - 2000 times, sad that necro does not get his flowers for at least contributing to what happening today

The interviewer is def on point saying Necro was ahead of the game, For instance, Who's Ya Daddy sample of The Zombies he did in '05. Eminem used it in '13. Other MC's also used it in between the time span too. I know he's not the 1st to sample it. But, he was the 1st most effective producer to utilize it.

This was a great interview! Necro can sometimes be somewhat obnoxious and annoying when he's on camera. I like when interviewers know when to let people talk, and not cut them off with dumb questions that ruin the flow of the conversation. I really love that he went into all the details about the old Stretch and Bobbito era. Nobody ever goes back to that. That's the era when I first heard him, on those early radio freestyles he was talking about. I still have those on tape from when I recorded them off the radio.
