My only problem with these lore vids is.. I thought I knew which faction I wanted to focus on first. I was wrong. They're all so incredibly made and unique!
When people wonder about if skaven would come to 40k I can't help but think about cawdor. Forever rooting for scraps, evenless care for life than other people in the setting and so incredibly single minded. Visually they all wear such battered smelly clothing and look at their weapons, all put together from scrap. Also like you say size, in the stories there are cawdor everywhere, people hidden everywhere. Individually most cawdor gangers will lose a 1v1 vs other gangs but why worry about that when you have ten
A thing i kinda want to say, is that house Cawdors business IS scavenging. Their holdings are mainly recyling centers and using thier massive expendable manpower to do jobs in places that a Goliath would avoid On a hive world that functions on scavenging leftovers to produce new things, they are very powerful indeed
I’m thinking about a number of random Cawdor getting bitten by infected/mutated rats while trying to capture them to add to there bomb rat squads, but instead of dying, they mutate and become the first skaven?
I recently picked up 2 gangs after one of my local hobbies shops opened up again so far I chose both the Corpse Grinder cult and House Cawdor cause there both batshit crazy and I love it
Well you have covered 2 of my 3 favourite gangs 1) Orlock 2) Delaque (hopefully soon) 3) Cawdor. I LOVE this series. Necromunda is by far my favourite GW game and wish it got more recognition, but there drip fed release every quarter initially of the 6 gangs hurt it severely when compared to things like Kill Team and War Cry in my opinion. As far as models, Cawdor is top notch and so many uses from scavvies to cultists.
Makes me wonder if GW decided to include the Ratskins in this version of the game ? I can always dream that they'll make an Ash Wastes suppliment so I'll have an excuse to scratchbuild mad max style vehicles for Necromunda
thanks, now I know something about the models I bought (counting) 22 years ago, never played with but didn't have the heart to get rid of. "One day I'll get back into tabletop gaming". We'll, the day has arrived.
I just for the first time started diving into the Warhammer 40K universe; specifically the Necromunda area after pre-ordering Necromunda: Hired Gun. I then proceeded to buy 14 of the main novels in the series so far and study a bunch. House Cawdor was instantly my fav house of the six, but I do have a fascination with religious zealots lol.
the thing that still confuses me and it still will until I get the house of chains book. Or lock are the miners, but then so are Goliath? Didn't Goliath get engineered to work in the mines, because it was too dangerous for anyone else? Or are they just more hardcore miners, thus making Orlock look like little bitches.... so this is why they also made Orlock a Biker gang, so we wouldn't notice they were being outclassed by Goliath with basically the same lore? LoL.
I think if there was ever an appropriate time to allude to real world religious beliefs or practices during your videos, talking about House Cawdor is definitely it.
So they're 40k Scientologists? My least favorite gang, based on their horde mentality and low tech aesthetics but you made them sound more interesting to me now.
There more like some sects you find in any religion, Self flagellation is found in all religions, but not practiced widely by anyone in those religions, that kind of thing
