Everybody I know says that the Tyranids are the scariest thing in 40k but I'd argue it's the Necrons that are the scariest... More Necron lore please Baldermort!

I was reading through The Infinite and The Divine, when I learned that Orikan The Diviner (Whom I learned of from your Cryptek video) was training to become an Immortal because of his family but found himself too physically weak and so joined the Cryptek orders. As such I very much like this video, as, moreover, it tells me more about one of my favorite units in my favorite faction.

There’s something unnerving about Necrons, but now with tactics paralleling space marines? That’s far worse. Awesome.

20 seconds in and I’m smiling, recalling that epic Space Wolves episode this is clearly following. Thank you for that, and I’m about to re-listen to that epic again while we get our house ready for an American Thanksgiving with half a company worth of guests (our home is famous for taking in dozens of people who don’t have anything with their own families).

I remember having the old metal necrons many many years ago. The immortals were huge for an infantry modle back in the day. Now you cannot find those models anywhere these days!

God I wish the Immortals were on the table as formidable than in the lore. GW kept reducing the gap between warriors and necrons to the point that they are barely better. In the age of 2W getting more common, they are the perfect candidate for that upgrade. They should have 1 more wound, and some bonus to their reanimation rolls to count their model as 1W. They also could use a new model, with some "heavier" look to them, right now they barely look heavier than a simple warrior.

Necrons and Orks... These two are the only races I'll play. The Guard have my respect but just aren't enough. The vaunted space marine has my ire as the favored son. The others are interesting but ultimately are not appealing enough to me. The necrons have fought wars that would break other races. And the Krork/Orks are the only real answer to their might...(orks iz da best!)

So still learning the lore, may be a dumb question. If they maintain more of their experience and knowledge, why is it difficult for them to adapt? Seems like the more of the original being left, the easier it would be for them to learn. I know the highers are mostly still themselves, so it would seem to track that more elite soldiers would have more volition too. Either way, love your stuff, keep it up👍

When playing Deathwatch Immorals and Lychguard are hard to fight and beat. Nothing but Greater Demons and such are more of a pain to kill. The few times I have faced Immorals as a Guardsmen it didn't go well in Only War.

The average necron Warrior was merely a civilian before the transfer occurred, afterwards, they were only capable of the most basic processing algorithms of combat tactics. Necron Immortals were formed from the rank-and-file of the standing regular necron army soldiers who fought in the War in heaven these are individuals who even during their transference into the metal forms they now hold kept all of that military Acumen that was developed over the course of the war in heaven. Coded and locked into algorithms ready to be programmed into the Immortals at any moment that might be needed to change their combat abilities and their perspective when it comes to the challenges that might be faced in the battlefield. So of course to a Space Marine it would seem as if they would be looking in a mirror because they are looking at a being that has well over a few million years worth of combat programming quite literally installed into its brain.
