Nectar points are one of the leading loyalty schemes in the UK. Though I wouldn't say go out of your way to earn them, if you regularly shop at Sainsbury's, eBay or Argos they're well worth collecting.
But that's not all. In this video I'll share how you can boost your Nectar points through things like American Express and Sainsbury's Bank credit cards, where to find bonus weekly offers and whether the new Nectar Connect is worth using.
Plus my pick of the (limited) ways you can spend those points.

I take surveys on nectar canvass. I make about 300-400 points a day for about an hour of effort. Usually do it while I'm watching TV on commercial breaks. It's not much but it really adds up to about 15 quid a week off my shopping.

I often switch my nectar points for a Cafe Nero voucher & they allow you to buy any size drink you like (for example, I usually get a Large Mocha), and a trick I don’t think many people know, is that you can combine the nectar voucher with collecting stamps towards a free drink. So if you’re clever enough, you can use 9 voucher from nectar & gain a free drink from cafe Nero at the end of it.

Could you please elaborate a bit more, like how many nectar points do I need to use to get a free hot drink? Isn't it like buying a hot drink in exchange of the nectar points?

Yes, the stamp trick is awesome. I don't drink hot drinks so I can't take advantage! O2 Priority also has a free drink every week which is good for Cafe Nero customers.

Hi Jayant. You head to your Nectar account and then choose to swap 350 points to use at Caffe Nero. You'll get a voucher/QR code to show at the till as payment.

I received a heap of points for buying pet insurance as well as double nectar for the year- almost equalled the cost of the insurance in points!

That's great. I always suggest to shop around for the best prices, but if those bonus points tip the cost in favour of Sainsbury's Bank then that's a winner!

If your energy supplier is British Gas then some serious points can be accrued by linking the card to your energy account. Thanks for a great video.

Hi Andy! :D first time commenter here. What do you think of the British Airways Amex card? It lets you collect avios, but those then can be converted into nectar points at 250 avios to 400 nectar points. Is this a faster way to collect nectar points?

Hi Marri, thanks for commenting! So you get 1 Avios per £1 spent with the BA Amex. This (once you've got 250) will convert to the equivalent of 1.6 Nectar points per £1. But the Nectar Amex gives 2 points per £1, so it'll earn you more points (IF your ambition is to collect Nectar points). There is the £25 fee with the Nectar Amex is year 2, so you might need to factor that in to your annual spend to see which would work out best.

I was going to sign up, but their terms of service are horrendous. Looks like a full-on data mining scam to me. I bet they can sell that data for far more than they pay out...
