You are very smart Sir !!! ONLY IN YOUR RV, IF you use it just for extension cords(not a home system) drive a ground rod as well with the ground to neutral plug you made/bought. !!! Tons of rules for safety....each one had meaning, just like every application has a different connection.......

Most built in EMS units have a "Bypass" switch which takes the EMS out of the system. This will allow you get rid of the open ground error. But then you don't have surge protection.

Interesting. We don’t have a generator, but this is useful info to be prepared. Thanks.

I am new to your channel, I like how you explain all you do to make your camping easier!!! I am interested in the Beyond li3, but I have a question…because of the length of the van does it drag when you go over a curve…like going into a gas station or a driveway?? Thanks…keep up the good video’s….going to binge watch them!!

Thanks! The rear can drag if going into a driveway that is angled up. The greater the angle the more likely it will drag. Going at an angle reduces the chances of dragging the rear. Another thing to watch out for is backing up over a curb. My freshwater tank hangs behind the rear axle. I really love my Beyond! The Li3 is great for us, it’s almost like being plugged in to a campground outlet.

@@CampingCoastie Thanks for the info....I had a Ford van years ago that I used to tow a trailer and it would sometime drag going into a gas station..when I had the trailer hooked up...I heard that coachman had lifted the beyond to help solve that!! Still I really like the Beyond Li3 setup...just have to find the right dealer!!

Second question...Why didn't you put the reflecticks on the inside of the windows??
@CampingCoastie
@CampingCoastie 2 года назад
@@arthurgreen9712 I put it on the outside to block the sun from heating the outside of the van and windows. I If inside the windows it allows the sun to heat up the air between it and the glass. That’s heat already in the van, still better than no Reflextic at all.

Hi Gard! Thank you for your video on this topic. Very helpful!! I have another concern. On my 2021 Coachman Beyond van, the Li3 lithium batteries are not charging when the engine is running. This situation began about six months ago and I do not know why. I took the Ford Transit van into the Ford dealership and they told me that the secondary alternator is working fine. have you experienced this before and do you know if any possible fix for this?

I suggest you contact Coachmen, it might be a problem with your Balmer. If you go to the Coachmen website you can find the number for the Class B service. They might be able to help you over the phone or maybe fix it in Middlebury.

Thank you! I did speak to Coachman by email. They also suggested checking the Balmer. The Ford dealership suggested the secondary alternator works properly (I do not believe they really know what they’re doing) so I am taking the RV to my local repair shop Intrust so they can check out the Balmer. Coachman said they will be available to assist the mechanic through this process. I hope they can work together to fix the problem.

I made an appointment with Coachman and they fixed the problem. It was the Balmer. Everything works fine now.
