kamil latocha same! I think the skill required for this NFS3 is much higher then the current ones. The current need for speeds are a lot faster but you get away so easily with smashing the corners. Also if you are behind those days you catch up a lot easier etc. I remember with NSF3 HP that the 8 lap tracks could be killing, after 7 laps and some cars close behind you knew you would loose with 1 more mistake. That shit really got my hearth pounding.
playing this with a voodoo2 card was one of the top 3 mind blown graphics moments ever in my gaming life. it looked so much better than anything i'd seen before i could barely believe it. and to be honest, apart from the car models, it stills holds up. aged pretty well.
I really liked how they made it so the music would change depending on where you were on the track. I could never get bored of the songs cause I would be constantly remixing it every lap lol.
Same here! A couple of years ago I've made a system that could mix this song in a very similar way, on the fly, just the way I wanted. I wanted to make my own videos with this style of music. I never did though...
OMFG! i'm crying.. i loved this game and i still do. the best NFS i've ever played. The italdesign scighera and ferrari 355 f1 spider were my favorites cars in this!
Same here. I remember when my dad got it for me. I was playing Viper Racing, too. When I started played this game it didn't end there because Viper Racing began to collect dust.
I almost cried watching this. Certain objects in the map gave me a flash backs. like the wood bridges just made me want to buy it all over again. If I could play ps1 online with specific friends I would be in heaven
One of the best NFS's ever made. This really brings a tear to my eye since it reminds me of my childhood. I had a Voodoo 2 with Glide 3.x ... Thanks for this old but beautiful video.
@@ChronoDog My playing experience used to be grainy. I don't get quite the nostalgia from this. Impressed by the graphics though. The cheat reflective effects on the back of the car are pretty smart.
My mom bought our first PC back in 2000. It came with a box of games and out of these games NFS3, Age of Empires 2 and FIFA 98 were the ones I played every single day after school. Because of them I now also own NFS4, Underground 1 & 2, Most Wanted & its 2012 version, Carbon, ProStreet, Undercover, Hot Pursuit, Rivals, 2015 and Payback, I fell in love with FIFA again after well over a decade (console bundled with 14) and why I preordered the AoE2 HD version on Steam the moment it was made available. Some loves just never really die, I guess.
It's been 15 years since I last played this game. I remember well this "hometown" location very well as it is the first place I ever tried. What a memory
Thanks for posting this! I had a demo of this game back in college--this makes me want to hunt it down and play it! I love how the rain drops hit the camera lens. I remember hearing the leaves rustle when driving by on other maps--such an immersive experience.
I remember playing this game on pc growing up, it was amazing. I just watched a video before this one of the PS1 version and it looks so shitty compared to this, pc for life :P

My Childhood game, i love it so much and also these Memories. I spend hours with this game back then i was in the Kindergarten also it turned me into an NFS Fan and Racing games fan. I was born 1997 but my dad brought us in 2000 and play it until 2004/05 with my Brothers. We spend Hours on this Game on PC and my Favourite Car was the Lamborghini Diablo which is even today. And yes i played other games especially Racing games to but they were mostly a bit older and i wanted Hot Pursuit 2 too on PC but my Parents didnt like it then we buy new games "so much". Bought some new games but rarely also because they were too expenisve. And i like the Hot Pursuits even more than Underground and even Most Wanted but ironically i liked Most Wanted more and realized it was like HP but almost we could bought Underground 2. Speaking about it EA could do more about NFS also with Hot Pursuit 2 and always having Cockpit and adding new Cars such like the Saleen S7 and also onwards they could do that and also by Carbon with the Cars and Story. Now EA fucked up Need For Speed after killing Black Box but HP 2010 wasnt bad but i missed Circuit and funny thing it was for my like Carbon speaking about the problems and similarities but Criterion atleast make it really Actionful. I dont care how much Tuning NFS wil have this will be my Favourtie and i wasnt aware of the difference of PSX and PC Versions of NFS back then and today i am following my Dreams one of it and it will being an Game Producer.
Loved this game. I remember the PS1 version was such a letdown after playing this. Graphics were horrible and Hot pursuit "play as the cop" mode is not even present if I recall.
Spent many hours in my younger days running this on a Pentium 2 with some brandless GPU... chasing that Diablo Pursuit car... never did unlock it though. :(
I had such good memories with NFS3. This video is definitely running with 3dfx voodoo hardware acceleration. I ran mine with voodoo 3 2000 back then, the game graphics was extremely atmospheric and great
I remember when this game came out it was like wow...... Changed the whole game experience that was known before. Good drifts car could flip over ect..... Man i feel like i am an old grandfather while im watching a this. So nice times back then. I wait for it when the game industry will ofer something special again! Like the games in the 90s....playstation was a real game experience.
I know, I'm not even 20 now, but I'm feeling myself like I had 70 years now! Time is passing so fast. Still got these womderful memories, when I came home from Kindergarten and playing this, NfSIISE and High Stakes/Road Challenge, what feld a bit like HP.
I loved this game so much, I use to play rocky pass 8 laps at night with weather and full field or cops. It was all about survival. Too bad the magic is gone these days. I have HP3 and yet to touch it, wanted to save that for a rainy day and see if there is a shred of hope.
Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit on PS version is still awesome, drift, tough cops, and 5 secret tracks (Ps1 version only), cops are funny. I haven't played this game on PC. I played NFS 2 Special Edition on PC
Wow... It actually looks good on Glide! I remember that it had some weird perspective problems on non-Voodoo cards, textures were floppy, moving on objects as you've changed your viewing angle..
Nobody was saying it's better or worse, but you had no Grid, Dirt 2 and NFS Shift back in 1998, did you? :P Back in 1998 this was the hottest game out there and a lot of us played and enjoyed it as fanatically as you do today's games.
