Hey! I'd really love to know what kind of Machine you're running this on. I've had the german retail version of the game, NFS: Porsche, ever since it came out. But i dont seem to be able to get it running in any semistable state on above XP. Unleashed seems to be pretty close to it. But I'd obv prefer to get my old Porsche (German) version running again. Congrats on the Speedrun. It's great seeing the NFS i have the most fond memories of again. P.S.: If you're interested in playing these or might get into them, pls share any nice fast NFS 1 and 2 (SE) runs with us ;)
Hi, the game runs just fine even on modern computers - this run was done on a Core i7 5820k with a GTX 1060 running Windows 10. There is a bunch of different patches that fix everything that breaks on systems beyond XP. There should be a guide on IPLounge that will take you through the installation, though I have not read it - I did it just by trial and error. Make sure you get nGlide. NFS2 was actually my very first computer game :) I don't have much free time anymore to speedrun games, but we'll see.

Does anyone know why the sound of the engine of the AI car is so different from the sound of the player's car? Their sound is much cooler. I want to change the sound of my car to the sound of AI. Is there a mod or a file where I can have the sound of the opponent's car? does anyone know?
all 914s suck balls, unfortunately. I wish they added more variety and different models though like 914/6, 924, 968 and couple of other cars that made appearance on PS1 version but were nowhere to be found on PC (despite leftover entries/files) :(@@ea09
Why would you not be able to? The Evolution Tree is a fixed line of races and the only thing aside of a players skill to master the tracks would be loading times. In fact, this exactly what me and my friends were doing after primary school day was over. Trying to beat times on individual tracks. On the weekends , we would go ahead and try to beat Evo times because it was the best indicator on who could master all the cars in Porsche. There were even some free DLC cars like the 935 moby dick. It's probably why i love this game so much still. It had a story you could easily ignore if you chose to. But if you did want to get into it for the story aspect as well, it provided you with a nice learning experience about Porsches technical advancements and tracks that would fit the actual Porsche test enviroment.
