Yea I have been playing NFS 2015 and Heat, imo they don't come close to Rivals. Heat its okay I think it's fun but NFS 2015 (next video) nah haha Rivals so far is the best NFS personally.
Rivals was my childhood, and I have to give it as much credit as I possibly can, because it kept my full, focused attention for over 5 years. The thing that I liked the most about the game was the police chases, because while it can most certainly be difficult with some of the most brutal cop AI in the series, mixed with the repair shops and pursuit tech, with enough skill it just becomes the most fun you can have in any NFS game while also being nervous about losing high stakes. You could be having the time of your life, but as soon as you hear that “vehicle damage critical” I don’t think the FitnessGram Pacer test got a faster heartbeat out of me. And yet, as soon as I got away while barely clinging on to my life, there I go again, repairing my car before I go looking for another pursuit. It’s fun!
Glad more people are talking about this game. Rivals is the best NFS game. Why? Cops are the best in the series. Crash cams are a punishment for not positioning your car. For example an ai racer sideswiped a traffic car and stops right in front of you. Another example is the roadblocks. Typically the ones placed on a slope (up or down) are hard to see. Cops PIT maneuvering you. There is a small window to actually brake and dodge their PIT, which would cause them to crash out. Remember to always strike first and if you’re in control, you’re not driving fast enough! Rivals is easy to play and hard to master.
Honestly glad people are talking about Rivals. Rivals is just... beautiful. I still play it to this day, it's such an underrated gem. And yet, rarely any people plays it nowadays despite being practically Hot Pursuit but... you know, free roam with cops. I loved the gameplay, the weapons were much better since they can be chosen now, and the fact that, like Hot Pursuit, allows you to be a cop. The game is truly a masterpiece, no matter what.
I have and back then and it wasn't my jam honestly. I haven't played it now so maybe I might give it a shot. I did play the OG on the gamecube/ps2 tho sooooooo good
this game wont get boring ever. the fact that this runs on xbox 360 is insane! and it looks great in motion. this means that we can still achieve insane graphics with good optimization. devs are just lazy these days. people who say this game is hard have skill issue cuz it really isnt once you know how to play it properly. horizon 2 and driveclub are the best looking racing games hell even games in general. You have to check them out asap! Games have peaked in 2014 in terms of visuals and havent moved since!!!
Wanna say one thing, counts for all games. You're bored in real life right, so what's the point of making everything immersive, or realistic, games are meant to be games, i got 400hours in assetto corsa hotlapping 100s of times around the nordschleife, but i still prefer playing a arcade game everyday all day. Don't make games a scenery sim(looking at modding community) with the annoying quirks of irl, it'll be fun for 10mins until you realise how shallow it actually is.
Rivals has ben and will continue to he one of the best still able to play in public matches Need for speed ive ever touched. Ive ben mastering the game for the past 9 years and never could completely drop the game. Its driving and everything feels perfect where its more game than real life and allows me to make more moves than i could in others. Im not the best but id say im in the top 10 for being chased and not touched. And chasing others and easily outmaneuvering the complex moves people will juke you with. I can say i cant play as a cop. Its not for me at all. But i constantly race and outsmoke high level players. Did i mention i absolutely troll fast players in the starter porsche? This games the most perfect way of explaining a gamble truly. While amazing and immaculate the game is. You will randomly crash. You game will freeze and crash. Cops will spawn directly in front of you and youll crash in game. Sometimes it takes a moment for players to spawn in with there cops right where you are so that can catch you by suprise. The imaginary bumps in the roads that can send you flying off map or crash. A beautiful game and would truly be perfect if the game had one huge final patch. Playing this game is fun and you could have a perfect hand in the race till you crash XD
Oh and I tend to be a very aggressive pvp player in this game. The Ferrari f12 is perfect for putting cops in there place. Close and personal is how you counter cops.
Heat 10 is stupid. The most Ive ever gotten was almost 2 million. In a heat 3 car, the F50. I used shockwave and stun mines. Fun when you stun mine a cop and they bounce off the walls or if they’re close enough you can shockwave them too. Slowing them down even further!
The sp system is fucking stupid in this game. Why do I lose all my sp when I’m wrecked completely I understand if I’m busted but wrecked severely and I lose my sp? Trash sp system. Should’ve kept it like mw 2012 wit the sp system. And why the hell are the repair shops so far. the map is Mildly hard to memorize when dealing with the repair shops. At least 2012 you can predict the repair shops location. Rivals you can’t you have to wait until you’re damaged to hell to get one. The game is great don’t get me wrong despite me saying all this just fix the sp system. Also the last second loading of civilian cars is fucking dumb. They should’ve been loaded as far as I am not when I’m 4ft near them that’s a major issue in the game. Banking your Sp is also stupid as fuck why not let it stack on itself instead of going to my hideout to cash it in
I love rivals, and mw 2012, many won't like 2012 i get it but it feels kinds like burnout paradise, i enjoyed it a lot. Got 70 hours in it somehow, just driving around, and doing milestones, and whatever i can find
gameplay and graphic is very good. Give it a try if u like action driving like fast and furious movie. One thing i really hate is that it doesn't have the Pause system which is why i deleted it after 2 days played.
NFS Rivals was my favorite game after MW 2005... After Rivals... Need For Speed games died for me...they did so bad after that... Rivals was beautiful in every aspect...
You know funny thing is that technically only played the tech demo in a Circuit City w/ steering wheel set up! I never thought to try it out, thanks I am going to see where I can snag a copy and make a vid for it.
i’m sorry, i love rivals, but it doesnt outshine unbound. don’t get me wrong I loved these 2012 2013 nfs games. shit, i even have a few of the most wanted 2 betas and the game itself, but at the end of the day unbound is just better in many ways. for starters, the driving mechanics are seriously impressive. i love how far criterion took grip. the grip turn mechanics are seriously enhanced. with the new drift pro tires, drifting has also been taken to incredible levels. the customization has also been outdone. i really like how horsepower and torque has been taken into consideration, not just topspeed and acceleration leading the way. visual customization has obviously been at it’s best since 2015, but unbound adds new awesome vanity items. i also think this “tier” system is really great, and that you can’t bring something like a bugatti chiron into a race with a 180sx and a type r. could use balancing but it’s a decent system so far. i like how some cars like the rsr and zonda have had nerfs, showing that they care about rebalancing. i like how there’s been so many updates compared to other games in the series. i like how the devs listen to the community when putting out these updates. i like how it’s not afraid to take a step in a new direction, with the whole “street art” vibe and i dont see why people hate on it so much. i like how long the list of cars is. i like how it has something for everyone, whether that be supercars or shitboxes turned into rockets. i like how good the graphics look, but criterion’s been a master at that for years. i honestly think this game is a step in the right direction and they should continue listening to feedback, pushing out updates, and showing their effort to keep this game popular.
Racing games fan are stupid. Unbound objectively looks better than Rivals. Nostalgia trip makes y'all go crazy 😵💫 Rivals is good but it wasn't that great. It's literally nfs mw 2012 part 2... great video tho. Only sad part is NFS' major audience are guys stuck in the past.
its not even mw12 2, its an awful attempt of trying to make an open world version of HP10, the game sucked and still sucks to this day. ppl like to hate and mock everything in release and then praise those same games 10 years later, thats why the industry doesnt risk in doing anything else besides a FH copy nowdays
